Primal Fear + Sinner - Guitarist Has Quit Both Bands
Guitarist Henny Wolter left both Primal Fear and Sinner yesterday. Wolter issued the following update on his MySpace:
"I have quit Primal Fear and Sinner because it just didn´t feel like a band anymore. I am looking forward to work with my buddies Klaus Sperling (drums in Sinnger, ex-Primal Fear, ex-Mystic Prophecy) and singer Oimel Larcher in my new band Nitrogods. It's a mean little threepiece and we are working on the debut album wich should be released in early 2011."
An official statement from the Primal Fear camp reads as follows:
"Online mags reporting the "news" after a blog posting from Henny today, that he's not a member of Primal Fear anymore. All we have to add - yes it's true and the split happened seven weeks ago. There was no reason for us to make a sensational headline or badmouth eachother. We feel sorry about this, but we have no more comments on the situation.
At the moment we're rehearsing for the forthcoming European Tour that kicks off on Saturday in Warsaw, Poland and takes us through 9 European countries. Be sure, we are well prepared and definitely ready to hit the road with five very common faces on stage, looking forward to meet you all. The band is thrilled to play a different new set-list incl. some nice surprises and we will start working on a new studio album right after the tour... and as a friend on Facebook commented - yes it is the two headed guitar monster.
We wish Henny, his wife and kids all the best for the future and good luck on his forthcoming musical projects."

Primal Fear - Details Of New Album Released
German metallers Primal Fear will release their new album "16.6 (Before The Devil Knows You're Dead!)", in May 2009 via Frontiers Records. After weeks of pre-production and preparation, the band entered the House Of Music studio on November 28 to begin recording.
The following track list was revealed for the album:
01. Six Times Dead (16.6)
02. Smith & Wesson
03. Soar
04. Riding The Eagle
05. Black Rain
06. Lightning
07. Time
08. Night After Night
09. Killbound
10. Don't Fuck With My Life
11. No Smoke Without Fire
12. The Exorcist
13. Torn
14. Scream
Frontman Ralf Scheepers made the following comment: "It's very unusual for one band member to see and listen how the other band member is delivering the goods on his instrument. When we perform together live, you can also judge what's going on each instrument but not as clear and obvious as in the studio where you can concentrate on each tone or note or beat from your mates. From what I have heard so far, I can really say it's the best performance I have ever heard from Randy on the drums and also from Henny on the guitar. Of course, some people might think, 'What else should he say, he has to promote the new album and that's what every musician would say just to keep the ball running.' But these words are my true impression and I really can't wait for Magnus and Mat to nail their parts to see the whole building growing and growing."

Primal Fear - Guitarist Quits The Band
Guitarists Stefan Leibing has posted the following statement on the band's website:
Dear Primal Fear fans,
After 10 years being in Primal Fear I have decided to take a time out from the music business for some time. I do this for my family, especially for my two little sons, who deserve to have more time together with their father. Of course this is no easy decision, even if I know this is the right one.
I leave the guys from Primal Fear in friendship and want to thank them at this point for their understanding and supporting me in this decision.I also want to thank you fans for a wonderful time during the last years! I say goodbye to you, having in mind, that this will NOT be a goodbye forever!
Best regards,
Stefan
The band has posted the following comment:
Well it's hard to see the curtain fall for a friend and a great player after ten years standing side by side. We have all respect for Stefan's decision. We were realizing the problems he went through the entire last year. He will be missed as a character and a great guitar player. There's an open door for Stefan in Primal Fear and we're working on the possibility, that Stefan will contribute a typical Stefan style song to our forthcoming album! Good luck Stefan to you and your family!
The band has also pointed out that both Stefan Leibing and Klaus Sperling will perform with Primal Fear at the 10 years anniversary concert in Reichenbach @ H2O and will be on stage for some special songs incl. a meet & greet.
UPDATED on 4 March:
New guitarist already found! Magnus Karlsson from Sweden. Magnus is known from his excellent work as a guitarist, songwriter and producer for Allen/Lande, Magnum's Bob Catley, Starbreaker and many more. More info here.

Primal Fear - Henny Wolter Re-joins Band
The following statement has been posted on the band's offical website:
"Yes, after a long discussion about the future of Primal Fear, we've decided to bring Henny Wolter back to the band. After a four year break, Henny takes over the guitar duties together with Stefan Leibing, who played most of the guitars on the new album "New Religion".
We decided us against a brandnew face, because Henny is back ready & smoking. Henny's departure 4 years ago was in a very friendly way and the guys stayed in contact during his abscence. Henny did a fantastic job on the new Primal Fear recordings and the following Sinner tour. We are proud to have the riff master from Hannover back in our ranks! Henny will make his comeback with the band on the next show on June 30th in Germany. Welcome Back, Henny!"
