Finnish funeral doomsters Shape Of Despair have tapped Throes Of Dawn vocalist Henri Koivula as the replacement of Pasi Koskinen (Ajattara, ex-Amorphis, Mannhai) who left the band in late 2010.

The band issued the following announcement: "Just before this year, Shape Of Despair and Pasi Koskinen parted ways. We got very few close persons in mind who could fit inside the band's chemistry and share the same passion for our music.

Welcome to our newest member Henri Koivula. Henri is known from his other band Throes Of Dawn which released the magnificent The Great Fleet Of Echoes album last year."

Finnish funeral doomsters Shape Of Despair are done with the recording of two new tracks, which will be released on a 7" EP entitled Written In My Scars. According to the most recent update, the EP is now being mastered.

The release of the band's first new material in several years is scheduled for late October/beginning of November 2010 through Solarfall Records (sub-label of Aftermath Music).

The EP will be released by Solarfall Records - a sub-label of Aftermath Music - on a yet to be determinded date. Written in My Scars is said to feature two brand-new tracks.

New Shape of Despair website is up and working.
New album entitled "Illusion's Play" was released on 22 of september by Spikefarm/Spinefarm worldwide. Album was recorded in Hellhole Studio as usual, with Anti Lindell behind the desk. Cover artwork was done by Mariusz Krystew as in previous "Angels of Distress" album.

So far the band has confirmed 2 live shows till the end of the year.

Finnish doom/death metallers SHAPE OF DESPAIR have set a September 27 release date through Spikefarm Records for their third album, "Illusion's Play". The follow-up to 2001's "Angels Of Distress" was once again recorded at Hellhole studios in Helsinki, Finland.
