Alchemy X - New Vocalist for Upcoming Album

Alchemy X would like to announce the addition of vocalist Tom Engel for our upcoming third studio album and hopefully well beyond. Tom brings professional experience, great range and even more importantly, humor and humility that have made his transition into the band seamless. We're very excited to add someone of Tom's caliber to the AX family and hope to upload samples of the upcoming album soon!

Elvenking - Recording the New Album

ELVENKING have officially started the recordings of the new awaited album.
After the successful release of previous albums Heathenreel (2001) and Wyrd (2004), Elvenking are ready to return with new songs and new line-up. With singer Damangoras back in the band and the new 5-piece act (following the departure of guitarist Jarpen) you can expect once again original and fresh sounds, mixing folk and romantic feelings with aggressive metal attacks and some surprises...

The new album will be recorded in the band own studios and at Sherpa Studios (Italy), in order to allow the members to have all the time necessary to create the best album possible.
The mixing will be then handled at Sonic Pump studios (Finland) by Nino Laurenne (Thunderstone, Wintersun,...). The final mastering will be done by Mika Jussila at Finnvox (Finalnd).
For the cover artwork and booklet layout Hungarian artist Havancsák Gyula (who did for example last Annihilator or Grave Digger albums) is already at work. A Fall release is expected, again under AFM Records flags.

Anthrax - Comments on Show in Lima, Peru

Posted in the official Anthrax website by Ian Scott, about concert in Peru:

Amigos,
Viva Peru!!!! Seriously, the show in Lima was top 5 of all time. Just complete insanity from start to finish. The gauntlet has been thrown and Peru is king shit of fuck mountain as of now.

They don't get many shows in Lima but I am going to do my best to spread the word that it is not a country to skip in SA. Of the so-called "big four" bands from the 80's we were the first to go. These people are starving for metal. It was a privilege to play for you maniacs. Thank you!!!!! I'm getting ready to go rock here in Costa Rica. Judging by the in-store we did today, tonight could be just as crazy as Lima. Pisco sours for all my friends!!!!

He also adds that it can not be done while there is a lot to do with Cradle but that it looks as if it is going to happen.

Rage - Sign with Nuclear Blast

German metal veterans RAGE around Peavy Wagner (vocals, bass), Victor Smolski (guitar) and Mike Terrana (drums) have signed a long-term deal with NUCLEAR BLAST. In an official statement, Peavy says: "After our fantastic anniversary tour we were convinced that we want to work with a label that pushes us forward with creative ideas and full power support. With this in our backs we can jump right into the making of our next album. We imagine to do something without stylistic changes but with a wider range of sound. After the good experiences with Victor's latest solo album we want to get the Whiterussian Symphonic Orchestra involved, similar to what we did a couple of years ago on "Lingua Mortis". This time the result will be a lot harder. That's how the new songs sound we recently wrote in first rehearsals. They blend in perfectly with our latest releases."

Shaman - New Name

It's official. With the new album, the new tour and other new stuff, the band begins 2005 with a modification in the name, due to patent matters.

The change isn't very important, just a new "a" vocal has been added: Shaaman.
The pronunciation is still the same, "shaman" in one word only. To make sure the name was good, the band did consult a real shaman (!)...

The album "Reason" includes 10 new tracks (with a cover from the 80s) and will be released in March in Brasil (Pela Disc).
