Rammstein - More Censorship Issues
After being censored for the pseudo mini-porn video that was "Pussy" and the controversies surrounding the single "Ich Tu Dir Weh" (I Hurt You) and a picture inside the album booklet displaying guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe spanking a chubby woman wearing only a mask, it seems that also two Rammstein live shows will be censored now.
In November the album Liebe Ist Für Alle Da got "indexed" by the German Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons, making it illegal in Germany for minors to purchase the album, or display it where it can be seen by people underage, effectively banning it from stores. At the time, keyboardist Christian Lorenz expressed surprise at the advisory board's "parochial sense of art" and regretted their apparent inability to detect irony.
Now, the German Family Ministry authorities will not allow the band to perform any songs that have been indexed on both their Dortmund shows. Furthermore, the ministry demands each band member to sign a "written explanation before the concerts, that the indexed songs will indeed not be played." In case of violation, the band faces a fine of ?10,000, per person. Public Order director Ortwin Schafer also stated that the Youth Protection Act will be put into force in conjunction with the police and "fans under 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian of a person to attend the concert. Fans without a parent or guardian in attendance will be sent home."
Both concerts, each with over 10,000 attendees, are both sold out. Though the organizers tried to downplay the situation: "We have received no request of the public order of Dortmund", says Silvia Pape of "Concert Team NRW". However, there were already telephone contacts. Pape: "Once we have something on paper, we will forward it on to the management and the band. The final decision lies with the guys. "

14.01.2010 - 21:02 Written by BitterCOld on 14.01.2010 at 20:27 Rammstein does not promote AIDS, man. What the hell are you talking about? There is something called "protection", if people used it more often, maybe a dick going in and out of a pussy wouldn't kill so much. I'm sorry, man, but this thought of yours is just stupid.

HAHAHA!! another funny thing is that the director of the "Pussy" video, is the same director for Lady GaGa's "Pararazzi" and quite a few Madonna videos... Common people tend to think that metal music is aggressive already (I prefer the word "energetic"), so lyrics and visual items may take it even further. Therefore they put censorship... In my opinion, censorship will only make these guys sell more records, and sell out shows all over the place. And at the same time, a 15-year-old, dancing on a pole (!!!), is not censored and is making a Disney movie... and I ask you, my fellow headbangers: WTF?!?

Apparently, the governments of countries such as Germany and Australia all think that anyone under 40 is a potential serial rapist, so they have to ban stuff that they think will lead to the downfall of society. Hopefully, they'll be given the boot sometime in the near future and the newer, more tolerant generation will take their place.

14.01.2010 - 21:26 Written by Slayer666 on 14.01.2010 at 21:02 ' I was responding to the "it's just a dick going in and out of a pussy" statement, not Rammstein and censorship. And "if more people would use protection" - well, apparently they aren't. so it is an issue. Just a dick going in and out of a pussy has killed millions upon millions of people. so my statement to counter the incorrect assertion of another poster is well grounded in reality. But since you missed it, as Promonex posted the translation of the statement regarding hte censorship: "The 36-page statement of reasons states: "The band spreads depictions of sado-masochistic practices and animate to unprotected sex." So while they are not promoting AIDS directly, they certainly aren't taking the Manocheese approach and encouraging protected sex either. sorry the overall point went sailing clean over your head.

If they don't use protection, even if they KNOW what could happen, it's their own goddamn fault, and no one should be blamed but themselves. 2.Right, because if we use censorship on musci videos and stuff, it's going to make all AIDS of this world gone or magically cured.

14.01.2010 - 21:35 Written by Slayer666 on 14.01.2010 at 21:02 He is right. Of course, Rammstein do not promote HIV infection but the acts depicted in the video can make some young and possessing not-fully developed minds people believe that this is real life. Any porn... I say, ANY porn or perverse depiction or anything can lead a weak-enough person to believe wrong things which can have sad consequences. They accused pope in "promoting unsafe sex" when he said that condoms are overrated but instead it was the spiritual life that we should look at...how easy is this to say "I have a rubber in me pocket, even if I don't use it every time I eff, I will never get any disease...even if I eff different people..."... this way leads so many to sad fate... I will not discuss this topic any further...

Nor will i. if Slayer666 cannot grasp the simple fact i was responding to an erroneous statement by another poster after a second explanation ( ), and not remarking in any way about Rammstein, Germany, or censorship, it isn't worth discussing it further.

14.01.2010 - 22:26 Written by [user id=5630] on 14.01.2010 at 21:17 Certainly you haven't been to an American university! Out of the mandatory alcohol orientation, I learned that the rule is "if a woman regrets sex at ANY TIME, it is rape." It's really too bad, but this doesn't seem much different than how an R-rated movie would be treated in the United States (however, for that, the benchmark age is 17, as y'all know.) It kind of does make sense that they're treating concerts in a similar manner, but since the subject matter is getting less and less socially acceptable, I suppose that this sort of behavior makes sense. (Plus, I've heard people complain about little kids going to see concerts/participating in metal. "Little kids wearing Gorgoroth tee shirts kind of ruins the statement." and that sort of thing.)

I Did not respond in any way, shape, or form, to the Rammstein censorship debacle. someone said that "a dick goin into a pussy never killed anyone" ... that statement is wrong. I responded to that statement. AIDS, spread most commonly via unprotected sex, has killed 25,000,000 people. In short, "a dick goin into a pussy" has killed a LOT of people. Just google "AIDS death toll" if you don't believe me. At no point did I say Rammstein spreads AIDS. At no point did I state Rammstein is pro-HIV. I am not even sure how some of you people even inferred it. I merely responded to an statement that someone made that was dead wrong. (pun intended). I am terribly sorry some people are so fucking stupid that they think i am attributing AIDS to Rammstein. Please ignore my statements and let your two remaining braincells get back to their eternal game of "Marco? Polo!"

Well hmph. I don't like the sexual aspect of Rammstein's stuff, but there is plenty of other music out there that is getting overlooked and is simultaneously asserting a bad influence. The double standards are pretty sad. There is a lot of mainstream slop over in America, including music, which promote sexual deviance and display images of a sexual or erotic nature. I did read the lyrics to Lady Gaga's "Pokerface", since joncheetham88 mentioned it, and I can definitely see the sexual influence in the song. How dreadful. The song is dreadful too. Planet earth sucks in lots of categories.

OMFG, it's evil Bush censorship of equisite art and I'm offended that Lady Gaga sells records and looks hot doing it and Germany is now obviously under Republican control and blablabla. The band's members are so full of themselves it's disgusting. A bit of humility (and declining record sales) would really suit them but if anything the opposite is bound to happen. Besides, as long as something is not promoting Nazism no real consequences ever happen in Germany so quit bitching.

For example when the voice over says "millions of years ago" it has to be subtitled for them as "very long ago" because according to those Christian broadcasters the earth is about 5000 years old at most
