In Flames - Album Pre-Production Finished
According to a posting on the official In Flames fan page on Facebook, the pre-production of the new In Flames album is almost finished. The songs are almost done and the band is almost ready to start the actual recording of the next album, at their own IF Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden.
According to an earlier statement by the band, "the plan is to spend the remaining part of 2010 and the beginning of 2011 creating and recording the follow-up to A Sense Of Purpose." The as-yet-untitled album will be the tenth studio full-length in the band's discography.
This album marks In Flame's first without founding member, guitarist Jesper Strömblad, who quit the band earlier this year to seek help for his alcohol addiction.

Hopefully Jesper leaving will ignite a fire up their backsides, and maybe with something to prove now, they'll deliver something great again! Im not holding out much hope, but let's see! Im interested to see what they'll come up with. xD It seems as if they are just going to continue as a four piece now, with Bjorn as the sole guitarist. Ive heard nothing about a new guitarist for the band...

Jesper was my favorite musician in this band. The riffs and songs he wrote were the best. Just look at their older stuff. I'd say most of it was written by Jesper. I'm really wondering what this new record will sound like. I also really hope Jesper is doing alright and that he can clean up his act. I think that if he gets over his addiction, some really good material will be written. But until then, proceed with caution. This could be a doozy of an IF album. I'm always hopeful though.

I only started listening to In Flames with "'soundtrack to your escape" but since then the latest albums have become more and more uninspired and "a sense of purpose" is just pure torture to my ears  I'm not expecting anything, but future will tell !
