Rhapsody Of Fire - New Guitarist, New Song Online

Renowned guitar virtuoso Tom Hess is now officially a new member of Rhapsody Of Fire.

Tom Hess is well-known worldwide for his unique guitar skills and for being the creator of the famous online guitar courses. He recorded most of the rhythmic parts of the new upcoming Rhapsody Of Fire album From Chaos To Eternity and also two guitar solos.

Comments Alex: "I saw Tom Hess playing on stage several times and always got impressed by his great stage presence and his way of playing. When I have heard the rhythmic and the solo guitars he recorded for Rhapsody Of Fire I was blown away, I could feel that strong presence in between every single note".

Luca adds: "I know Tom since many years. He is a great person, a good friend of mine and I am not surprised of the success he's having teaching his guitar techniques all around the world. I am really proud to have built a strong partnership with him and I will always thank him for the support he gave me when I decided to create my Neoclassical Revelation Guitar Course. Therefore I am really honored to present Tom to all the fans of Rhapsody Of Fire as I am sure he will be the one who, through his artistic talent and unique skills, will make the difference in this band for the years to come!"

And now a true gift from Rhapsody Of Fire to all their fans around the world. From the new album From Chaos To Eternity you can now download "Aeons Of Raging Darkness", the most brutal song composed by Luca and Alex, over at this location (zip).

Adds Luca: "Such song is dedicated to all the innocent people victims of the war, of the abuses, of those acts of violence that on a daily basis rape the soul of our wonderful planet."

More album details were previously reported over here.

lulz

Maybe I'm just not really in the mood, but the new song is kinda "meh".

It's a very weird song for Rhapsody, it's not a great song and it'll need a few more spin but I like it.
And no, it is not as brutal as When Demons Awake or Reign Of Terror, but there's a lot of screams.

Remember when Rhapsody was ruled by Manowar? Well during that time, Manowar also made up Holy Hell - a "meh" kind of female-fronted symphonic metal band. And Tom Hess was thrown in that band at first, but got removed before they finally release an album. A good thing for him I must say!

I guess it's a nice piece of news, although I'm a bit sad since it means we won't see Dominique Leurquin filling in as guest guitarist on tour anymore.

Surprisingly good. Nice to hear some anguish that recalls me to dawn of victory (of course in an epic cheesy way). I love the 4 first albums then all has been downhill for me... maybe I just grew up and stopped reading lord of the rings while hearing rhapsody lulz.

It isnt bad, but they need like to evolve, there are some nice guitars parts here and there but that's about it, i dont think they're gonna make it for me, in other hand this new guitar player seems quite a good choice.

I still can't understand why Dominique Lerquin isn't a permanent member of the band, he is a great guitar player.

Wait... they have a bassist?

He is very good actually, but they don't seem to recongnize his full potential (well, at least, the last album he has had a lot more of moments for him).

Just listened to the song. pretty good, but like mentioned earlier, still doesn't beat reign of terror

i like the direction, as long as they don't overdo with extreme vocals.

Wait... they have a bassist?

Yeah, like some dude above me said, he's pretty good and he's got the BIGGEST GADDAMN NOSE EVER. Seriously, a honker of that magnitude deserves it's on article on this site in place of that skrillex, KoRn article.

But this song isn't the most brutal they've ever written. It's good, just not the most brutal.

I dont agree with you, the only thing i dont like in reign of terror is there was too much of epic choruses and not enough heavy parts with riff, while this song satisfies me completely and reign of terror is like a christmas song after it . when demons awake was more br01tal but this one is fresh.

Music is not bad but I really dislike some vocal parts in this song.
Not surprising, as I never liked Lione's attempts at harsh vocals.
Guess I'm too much used to real harsh vocals.

I´ve been listening to the song for some time... I have to admit, it blew me away since the first time yeah, it's not precisely "brutal", but for the band´s standards, is pretty heavy... And Alex kinda shines here... I´m looking forward to the album, since I love when Rhapsody mix both vocals...
