I'm really hoping this one is better than "Hordes Of Chaos", which was a bit disappointing....

Calling EOG a "Masterpiece" might be stretching it a bit, but it was a great album, and "Hordes Of Chaos" was definitely a bit of a let down after it.

While I did really enjoy Enemy Of God (and love hearing the title track live!) I didn't mind Hordes Of Chaos either. It wasn't perhaps as strong as their other recent material but anyhow, I'll be looking forward to hearing this new release!

It's not a bad album, I just found it quite average overall... "Amok Run" is a great song though, and "Demon Prince" is one of my fave Kreator songs!

Yeah sometimes you can find the best songs on an otherwise unimpressive album. I guess I found this album a bit more enjoyable though. It certainly had some split opinions when it came to awards time

I have the most problems with the lyrics on Hordes Of Chaos. Both Enemy Of God and Violent Revolution had very cleverly written, deep lyrics. Hordes Of Chaos falls awfully short in comparison.
Quote:
Still I can't find what you adore
Inside I hear the echoes of an inner war
Nothing can take the horror from me
Your sick world the loss of all morality
My hate has grown as strong as my confusion
My only hope my only solution
is a violent revolution
It doesn't get much more to the point and beautiful to listen to at the same time. And Hordes Of Chaos has these insufferable filler choruses that only repeat one and the same statement over and over.
Quote:
Hordes of chaos
Hordes of chaos
Everyone against everyone - chaos
Hordes of chaos
Hordes of chaos
Everyone against everyone - chaos
How do these two even play in the same league?

All three post-Endorama albums are fucking awesome. End of story. And by the way, fuck lyrics. It's THE RIFFS that matters in thrash. Lyrics are just an excuse so the singer can shout about political stuff or how much Satan rules.

@corrupt: Well no, but if you're not looking for something deep and meaningful but rather something to just thrash about to then it's still pretty good. Again they do have better material.

Music always is a symbiosis between good instrumental parts, good vocals and good lyrics. If you refuse to pay attention to lyrics, you miss half of the beauty. Likewise, bad lyrics can destroy music. It can be wonderful in terms of instrumental play but if the lyrics suck, I can't get into it really. I have the same problem with the latest Nevermore. Musically it's ok, not as good as This Godless Endeavor but ok. But the lyrics are way too simple and plain. And that's the way I feel about Hordes Of Chaos in comparison to it's predecessors.
Edit: Depth by the way only means room for interpretation. Paint a picture with words instead of writing a report.

Dudes, it's thrash, Hordes of Chaos was simple thrash. If your problem is that they sometimes go more aggressive and thrashy that's your problem. I actually enjoy the title track at whole. You should've been at one of their shows - I was at a Hordes Of Chaos show and it was awesome to see how mad and crazy people can go for that.

I've seen Kreator 14 times. Four of them were shows for Hordes Of Chaos. I'm not saying it's bad. But just saying it's thrash and period without any regard to music or lyrics is pointless. It's not automatically good just because it's thrash.

Hordes of Chaos was sick! it was more OG Kreator than the melodic Kreator everyone seems to love.

Eagerly anticipating this. Kreator is an all-time great thrash band that I've been a fan of since Pleasure To Kill. Finally saw them live last year (or earlier this year?) and they did not disappoint. New album could mean new (US) tour.

I don't know what to think about "our most epic album so far". I wonder if it will be epic in the good sense or in the bad sense (cheesy). I'm always quite suspiscious when bands use the word 'epic'.
I don't like the allusion to "a lot of traditional metal" either. I'm not a fan of traditional Heavy Metal and I'm afraid it could mean "lots of boring mid-tempo stuff".
Anyway, I'm still confident, as I like everything Kreator released (apart from the 90s).

I loved Endorama, was a bit disappointed with more generic but still good VR and EOG, but I found HOC refreshing and energetic and really liked it. I even liked the repetitions in choruses, I found them relentless.
I really hate when bands get scared by reactions of "old fans" and stop their musical progression to "get back to the roots" and cash some money, which happened to Kreator after Renewal and again after Endorama. But, it is "old fans" who ultimately pay the bills, so it can't be any other way on the free market.

You're comparing 2 different parts of the songs. You should hate the chorus to Violent Revolution if you hate the one in Hordes of Chaos. If memory serves me Violent Revolution goes:
Violent Revolution, Violent Revolution
Reason for the people to destroy
It's the same basic song structure, just said fewer times.
