Arjen Lucassen - Unveils New Project
Dutch multi-instrumentalist Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One, Ambeon, Guilt Machine) recently started working on a new project, and is now revealing fans its first details. It will be a collaboration with Arjen's favorite female singer, Anneke Van Giersbergen (Anneke Van Giersbergen, ex-The Gathering), and fans should expect an epic concept double album, a combination of "classical meets metal" and "acoustic folk". More details to follow.

Let's hear it! Arjen's new stuff is always interesting. I don't know how he can create so many projects and still be distinct from one another.

I'm not in love with Anneke's work, no matter how many times I've tried to get into it. But anything Arjen does, I will instantly get hooked on like an all-consuming drug.

I'll be honest, the folk elements of recent Ayreon records have been some of my favourite folk moments in metal, so to see a whole project show quite a bit of that is definitely a plus for me!

I'm here for Anneke!  I do love their collaboration, even though Arjen's music isn't my cup of tea exacly. Have to admit I do find some of his songs with Ayreon absolutely wonderful though. Bt just a few (definatelly all which feature Anneke!)
