Blind Guardian - Releasing New Single, New Album In January

The wait is almost over! Blind Guardian is finally back and one of the world's most popular power metal bands will be releasing Twilight Of The Gods, the first single from their long-awaited new album, on December 5th, 2014 via Nuclear Blast. As for their new album, it is to be unleashed upon the world in January 2015. You can start preparing yourself for the follow-up to At The Edge Of Time.

Twilight Of The Gods is the first creation of the Krefeld, Germany based band in more than four years. Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kürsch assures: "This song is a statement about Blind Guardian. The pure definition of all that the band stands for: it is innovative, melodic and brutal."

Twilight Of The Gods is a "neck breaker" in the true tradition of Blind Guardian "that will captivate you with the most epic and catchy chorus we've ever written," says Kürsch.

The single will be available in three formats. Pre-order your copy here.

CD digipack with three tracks:
01. Twilight Of The Gods
02. Time Stands Still (At the Iron Hill) - Live in Wacken 2011
03. The Bard's Song (In the Forest) - Live in Wacken 2011

7" Vinyl:
  • Side A: Twilight Of The Gods
  • Side B: Time Stands Still (At the Iron Hill) - Live in Wacken 2011

    Digital:
  • Twilight Of The Gods

Also be sure to check out Blind Guardian on tour in 2015 in a city near you. The band will do an extensive European tour next year and perform at 70000 Tons Of Metal 2015.

Excellent! I am looking forward to new material from Blind Guardian. At the Edge of Time was a great return to form. I am still hoping to catch these guys live. Hopefully they will tour the US next year.

    Blind Guardian's brutal?

Anyways, looking forward to this a lot. Seems like January already has some potentially very strong releases planned.

Twilight of the Gods? Is originality that scarce of a resource?
Hansi Kürsch assures: "This song is a statement about Blind Guardian." I sure hope it isn't, because the title alone is a declaration of resignation. The final glimmers of scattered music from the gods in their decline below the horizon. This isn't the kind of statement I want from a long time favourite band.

I think Blind Guardian have been listening to Amon Amarth and their new album will be death metal Joking.

...or Wagner! I just threw the Helloween song out there because people talked about how it was an Amon Amarth reference.

It's a reference to half of the metal bands out there... and indeed, not only metal music.

That's right, but sadly no news as it seems about that.

Anyway, the last statements about what will be the next BG album give me an image about a very powerful album with some prog and sympho influences.

At the End of Time is my fav by them so far and the only album of theirs I listen to regularly, so hopefully this is in the same vein! The title and cover seem to suggest so.

A great album, but I prefer so much Imaginations From The Other Side (IMHO the best musical album created ever). And well, the cover was created by Felipe Machado (that art style is not hard to miss ). And bout the album's style, well, Hansi at the beginning of the year revealed about some tracks that the album will be more fast and with some prog influences (something à la Queensryche, ELP, Savatage and others)

BG's artworks are getting sicker and sicker.

I find it to be boring and similar to every cover they've done since A Twist in the Myth.

Well, from A Voice in the Dark single the covers are done (sadly) by Felipe Machado. Sometimes I think: is so hard to get again something from Andreas Marschall??? :/

The album is lyrical orientated on the 1995 released album "IFTOS"-songs: ?Imaginations From The Other Side"-Songs ´Imaginations...´, ´Bright Eyes´ und ´And The Story Ends´.
that continues the story of the boy that must decide to go through a portal in a foreign world.
