Guitar master Joe Satriani is ready to share new music with the world. Two years after Unstoppable Momentum, the guitarist is readying the release of Shockwave Supernova, which has just been announced. The concept album Shockwave Supernova is coming out on July 24th via Legacy and you can already hear a preview from a track off the new album, "On Peregrine Wings," at this location or below.




While recording the album late last year at Skywalker Sound in Lucas Valley, California, Satriani assembled a trio of world-class musicians ? keyboardist and guitarist Mike Keneally, drummer Marco Minnemann and bassist Bryan Beller.

Satriani explained: "I had a funny thought that I use this alter ego to kind of push me out there and be a showman, because that's not really how I am - I'm usually more the shy, retiring type. The songs I've been writing over the past two years sort of address that transformation, what this guy Shockwave is thinking. It's a crazy, funny concept."
