Journey - Drummer Arrested For Assault
It seems like Deen Castronovo was arrested for assault and it's not the first time! He was arrested in the early morning of Sunday in Salem, Oregon. The Journey drummer was booked for assault, coercion, and menacing, according to reports from TMZ. The 49-year-old California native has already been released on bail.
The incident was believed to have taken place just before his arrest and was described as a domestic dispute. Police told the site they found the musician at a home on Sunday at 9 am and arrested him without any incident. Castronovo was also arrested in Oregon in 2012 for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
Deen has also played in Cacophony, Malice, Geezer, Marty Friedman and has been in a backing band for Ozzy Osbourne, Vasco Rossi, Steve Vai, Paul Rodgers and Matthew Ward.
Journey is scheduled to open the 2015 Hollywood Bowl season this coming Saturday, June 20th with a performance with Thomas Wilkins and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. As for whether Castronovo will be playing drums, no comment from the band's rep.
