Motörhead - Frontman Deceased
It has just been announced that the legendary frontman Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister of the UK heavy metallers Motörhead passed away sometime yesterday, December 28th, after a short, aggressive fight with cancer.
The remaining members of the band states: "There is no easy way to say this?our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it's way down the street, with his family.
We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren't words.
We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please... Play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy's music LOUD.
Have a drink or few. Share stories. Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself."

Being a relative latecomer to rock and metal, I feel privileged to have managed to experience the phenomenon that was Lemmy live several times, with him still delivering in his twilight years. It shouldn't be a shock that such a hard lived life would eventually catch up to him, but it's still a huge body blow. Still, I don't think anyone can say he didn't live his life to the very fullest, so RIP Lemmy and thanks for everything

It gonna hit pretty hard for ones who lived his music since Motorhead formed. I'm too young to comment how incomparable and genius this guy was. Well, I knew it was comin' and today it break it off in a very sorrow way. The great part is his folks in heaven must be waiting for him. Must be good hangout there once his soul reaches there. His music has always been fantastic and will live forever. RIP, man.

Even i'm not a Motörhead fan, i really like him how he plays the bass guitar. And true, like others said, we all know this coming, but i feel sad anyway. But maybe it's better die quicly... Cancer at last stadium is really a bad beast than drains away everything...

Worst way to begin a day. I thought people were joking when I saw news about Lemmy being dead. The guy was playing gigs some weeks ago and to die so suddenly... I do believe few saw it coming so soon. RIP. Nevertheless, this is one of the very few, privileged people that actually got to do what they wanted in life and had fun doing so. I only share admiration for him.
