The original facebook post did end with a hashtag #blackmetal. Far from proof but certainly interesting.

I loved Celestite but I bet this one will be back to their full metal sound. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, I think Celestite was just a one off thing. We'll see though. I would love to see some of the droney ambient, brass section type sounds like on Celestite Mirror incorporated into a larger BM sound like that on Celestial Lineage. Now that would be some cool shit.

Please no more ambient stuff. Celestite was ok but it was by far their worst album.

I hope the next album is good. That would be enough for me.

In a picture I dont see guitars, drums and microphones. Where are all these necessary items for recording new album ? Or shall we expect to get split album with Alphaville ?

Yep! Good, and must sound identical to their debut, but also be completely different. It must be original, and nostalgic at the same time. Anything less is a betrayal of their fanbase, music in general and of the U.S. Constitution.

Celestite certainly wasn't their best, but it was goddamn great and a welcomed break from their usual sound

I dunno... I always like to think if a band wants to change completely their sound they should do so on a side project name, and not use the same. There always will be people who are into the original genre but not into the newer one.

If you guys like elevator music then it's ok. I like long black metal tracks with riffs and vocals, and tempo changes and stuff going on, because my attention spam is not ast good as it used to be anymore :3

Just kidding btw: I know dark ambient isn't elevator music. But well, if this will be other ambient release, at least they could do something which doesn't sound like every other band in the genre. Like Toby said: Put some vocals at least

I'm quite big on bands that mix up genres while keeping the same name, especially if they manage it really well with multiple genres. Kinda feels like they should have something to hide or feel guilty about if they change their name every time they try something new. Perhaps if they want to establish a line of albums of a specific sound I could see the need for a new name, but Wolves have varied it up quite a bit on the last 3, so I'm fine with them keeping the name.

That's more or less how I react when people tell me that Darkthrone should have changed their name. xD

Darkthrone, then Lightthrone, then ICanSortOfSeeThemThrone. It's the only way to please everyone.
