This is a bummer. As a big fan of the band and a fellow drummer, I really admired Cato's playing a lot. Glad I got to see him live with the band a handful of times.

Cato is a fantastic drummer and I really appreciated his work with Enslaved. Hope that he enjoys his time with his daughter and that the fish are biting. This is sure to be a big blow to Ivar and Grutle. They have often said in interviews that finding Cato was a huge influence on the positive direction of the band.

Good luck to Cato and his family. Have seen him live a couple of times and met him once. Fantastic drummer and a funny guy. Great contribution to Enslaved. Will be missed but he is making the right decision for himself and his family.

I would think with an established sound, they could find a drummer that fits their needs. Much like they did with the new keyboardist. I hope. But really, 15 years is a long time to keep a job, haha.
