Die Apokalyptischen Reiter - Re-Sign With Nuclear Blast Records
Nuclear Blast Records is proud to announce that Die Apokalyptischen Reiter re-sign a new contract with the label. German metal band is currently in the studio, recording the follow-up to Der Rote Reiter. The new album is due to be released in 2021 via Nuclear Blast.
The band comments: "Our old deal with Nuclear Blast ended after the release of our last album and it actually took us three years to think about how to go on from there. There were many options available, even the option to start our own label. But since we're still a do-it-yourself band without management, we're so busy anyways that we ultimately decided against that and re-signed to Nuclear Blast. Even though a lot of things have changed at the label and some old friends are no longer working there, after many phone calls and trust-building meetings, we decided to continue our collaboration. We already started working on the follow-up to Der Rote Reiter in 2018. We didn't set a firm date for the release, but gave the album some time to grow and take shape. The recording sessions in Hamburg have already started, but they may still take until the end of this year."
Jens Prueter, Head of A&R at Nuclear Blast Europe, comments about the band's re-signing: "25 years of Die Apokalyptischen Reiter? Has it really been that long? Yet there are still musical boundaries to be broken, and there are still obstacles to overcome in the minds that they denounce in their lyrics. There is still a lot of work to do and we need them for the next 25 years. Therefore, it is a special pleasure for me that in their anniversary year they have extended their contract with Nuclear Blast so that the label can continue to help them ride through the apocalypse and spread creative chaos. The next ride is scheduled for 2021. Neither they nor we can stop the apocalypse, but at least we can make it a little more colourful. We raise our glasses to that! Cheers!"
