Wolves In The Throne Room - Return With New Album Announcement
Two decades into their journey as ritualistic black metal conjurers, Wolves In The Throne Room have emerged from the forest with Primordial Arcana, their new full length album to date out August 20th (Relapse Records - North America and Century Media Records - rest of the world). Taste a first piece of the new outing by streaming an opening track "Mountain Magick" in the form of a music video.
Primordial Arcana is the band's first completely self-contained work: In addition to composition and performance, brothers Aaron and Nathan Weaver alongside guitarist Kody Keyworth handled all aspects of recording, producing and mixing at their own Owl Lodge Studios in the woods of Washington state. *inserts obligatory "interrupted my hentai/Grand Belial's Key for this..." meme Coming after their worst album after coming from their best two. Judging by the video there's an interesting use of dynamics for focus on tender individual parts but gone seems the engagement to make an interesting composition when focusing on the wholesome piece. A watered-down Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk. The shots of the light passing rocks and burning ferns were pretty tho. Choice of attire can seem shots fired at Cosmic Church.

Pre-ordered. The music video is awesome. Not super in your face, but develops nicely. I like the theme of this album. I'm all for more Pagan-y stuff I agree. Hear some Emperor influence for sure.
