Cult Of Luna - European Touring Plan In 2022 Unveiled

After announcing European tour dates with Holy Fawn and Caspian last December, the Swedes Cult Of Luna were forced to postpone those for a year (October, 2022). Coinciding with this postponement, Cult Of Luna are pleased to confirm a brand new set of shows in February and March 2022. On this trek they will be supported by Alcest and Svalbard. Dates for both parts are listed below.

Frontman Johannes Persson states: "When we walked off stage in Mexico City in early spring of 2020 we had no idea that it would be our last show for almost two years.

"We have since announced one tour and had to move it to the end of 2022. Now, we can finally announce a tour for early next year that will make up for all the lost time.

"In a way it feels like we need to re-conquer that stage and with Alcest and Svalbard it feels less of a burden. We're more than grateful that we have such amazing, solid artists to help us retake it.

"As if just going on tour doesn't feel unreal enough, it still hasn't sunk in that we are playing the Olympia in Paris. If there's any such thing as holy ground in music then this venue definitely qualifies into that category.

"But wait? there's even more: eight years after our first Beyond the Redshift festival in London, we're doing it again. The line-up is curated by us and we are determined to bring you a bunch of our favourite artists and bands you didn't know you were a fan of. Bands are being booked as I write this and we're going to announce the full line-up later this summer. It will be la grande finale of the tour and we hope to see you there."

Cult Of Luna are one of those that are impressive on album as well as live on stage. Definitely not gonna miss this one, if it will go through as planned. Also, a very decent support.

Yup, if I had to illustrate the word "mesmerising", they'd be one of my go-to bands. I haven't seen them since the Eternal Kingdom tour in 2009, can't wait (I didn't even know they postponed their tour btw).

I actually saw them on their last tour in November/December 2019. I was so overwhelmed by their performance that the recommendation seeing them live would apply to anyone who would like to dive into some sort of transcendental aural experience, being metalhead or not.

In 2009 I went to see them with a friend of mine who is not at all a metalhead and he told me it was one of the most striking shows he'd ever seen. Glad to see that hasn't changed - or only for the best.

Was that the show at the Vents du Sud ? Cause I think it's the last time I saw them too...

Nope, I was living in Lyon at the time, saw them at L'Epicerie Moderne in Feyzin, a few kilometers to the south.

Oh OK. Checking here, that Vents du Sud show was for Somewhere Along The Highway (here, didn't click the 'I was there' box : ) in 2007.
Been a while since I last saw them, then...
