Possessed vocalist and bassist Jeff Becerra confirmed in a recent interview with This Day In Metal that the band has been in the process of writing the follow-up to their 2019 album Revelations Of Oblivion, which was their first in over three decades, but went on to add that its progress has slowly been taking shape because of the COVID pandemic.

When asked if new music from Possessed is expected soon, Becerra said: "I am writing new music, yeah. It's going a bit slow…there's been some lag because of COVID, but we're back at it, hard at work. It's hard though. I want every lyric to mean something and I also add in hidden meanings and double entendres, so it is really hard work. Right now, we have 3 full songs ready - we need 4-6 more complete songs. But we have 4 on the burner right now, so when it comes, it will come fast."
