Belphegor - Release 'Virtus Asinaria - Prayer' Track & Video

Diabolical death metal squadron Belphegor have released an atmospheric video for their brand new track, "Virtus Asinaria - Prayer," which serves as the second single from their upcoming studio album The Devils, due out on June 24th. Video clip handled by Thomas Keplinger.

Helmuth states: "Our new video for the track "Virtus Asinaria - Prayer" pairs Belphegor's bizarre live procession with an intimate ritual of sulphur, passion & blood. For he shall rise, heretic goat of flesh & lust! It stands for what Belphegor has always stood: liberty and the everlasting spiritual & bodily manisfestation of carnal sin upon this rotten world!"

I'm torn on this band, on one hand they have some decent material, but on the other they come across as trying too hard to be "evil" and satanic. It's kinda lame to be honest.

You know, the best comedies only work because of the actors playing it straight.

I find most of their lyrics and image kind od funny, almost satyrical, I 've never taken them seriously, nor I think they take themselves completely serious. And that's why I like them. Unlike Behemoth for instance, who are trying way too hard to be evil, only to come across as pathetic and pretentious.
