British thrash metal legends Acid Reign announce that Matt Smith (Control The Storm) is officially joining the band as permanent guitarist, having previously filled in for Paul Chanter, who left the band last March, at recent live performances. They also state that Smith's commitments to the band won't affect the future of Control The Storm, with whom Acid Reign also share their drummer.

The band state as follows: "We are delighted to announce that Matt Smith has joined Acid Reign. As you can see, we had a blast playing together, and we've all decided to make it a permanent arrangement. Matt and Marc will also continue playing in Control The Storm cos that's how we roll. So please welcome Matt."
