Sonata Arctica - Present New Song

After two acoustic albums, Sonata Arctica have secretly worked on a new album going back to electric soundscapes, and, right in time for their European Tour with Stratovarius and Induction, they present a first taste of what's to come in spring 2024 via Atomic Fire Records.

Frontman Tony Kakko comments: "This is the first power metal song I wrote for the forthcoming album which is laden with them. The song handles the worry about raising a new generation of people with or rather letting an electronic screen - namely tv, pad or some such - do a big part of raising this generation of human beings. We think that we buy ourselves time with these gadgets, but are these devices the right "nanny" for our kids or should we maybe slow down a bit, read books, teach that happiness can be and often is something we reach by stopping and letting go of constant stimulation of all our audiovisual senses? In ways, we are flying blindly with these things. Things are advancing too fast in many ways..."

Cruel truth
This was done to deceive people
The cruel reality is that sonata arctica does Not exist since reckoning night.

This song is bored bored bored
Typical power metal drums
Typical arpegiated neoclasical solo in keyboards
A non catchy melody in vocal lines
Old and usless topic in lyrics IT WOULD BE BETTER IF THEY HAVE USED IT 30 YEARS AGO
A non catchy theme in guitars
Chorus using typical keyboards arpegiated

NOTHIN NEW AND UNECESARY SONG

AND it seems that they don't know how to start a song and finish it as well.....just....end 🤮🤮🤮

Just because the song is predictable, doesn't mean it is bad. This song sounded very much like a modern twist of Ecliptica. I can't help you if you also hated that album.

Sounds awesome! I love Tony, one of my favorite vocalists and people in the the power metal world. Everything SA does I enjoy, some takes longer to grow on me but I always end up liking their albums.

I'm getting "The Days of Grays" vibes, when they released "A Flag in the Ground" as the first single but you could tell the record would go in a more "Unia" way. Honestly, and as someone that appreciates both those records [TDoG is still my favorite] I'm keeping myself optimistic about this new iteration.

As for this new song, it's what I want from SA, so I'm happy.

I would hate to try to come up with anything new after writing Winterheart's Guild... but these guys keep trying and they have made some really good songs since then. This seems to be one of them. The music is nothing new, but it's good, and with SA I come for the music but stay for lyrics anyway.

Reflecting on it now, I realize that understanding history is more than just facts and dates—it’s about passing on the wisdom of past generations to shape the future. Like quality music transcends time, connecting people across eras, the lessons we learn today will resonate with future generations. It’s in these moments, where knowledge and art meet, that we leave a lasting impact on those who come after us. History wasn’t my strongest subject in school, and I often struggled with homework. That’s when I discovered the https://essays.edubirdie.com/history-homework-help service. It not only made assignments easier but also helped me dive deeper into the lessons of the past. By the end of high school, I could confidently tackle any history topic.
