Two boring songs so far...
(This is coming from someone who likes Endless Forms and the second disc of Human Nature)

I don't even know what they're going for anymore. There are some good parts, the vocal lines are weird, can't really form an opinion one way or the other yet.

I get a mighty sense of deja vu from the melodies. Apparently they're trying to hide the way they're ripping off their own material by introducing a small element of electronica. It doesn't work. At all. There's no disguising the fact that the children's choir is singing the verse melody from Elvenpath ("We are the ill-starred children of your junkyard" = "Hearing music from the deepest forest. Songs as a seduction of sirens"), it's as obvious as something that's more obvious than the averagely obvious things.

The infamous children's choir, the one thing you just don't do in a metal song

No wonder they're not touring with this album. It's gonna suck and they know it

Just like in the days of 'Hamster, a dentist, and hard porn Steven Seagal', the lyrics of this song are extremely difficult to understand without looking up the written text.
"take shelter, floats arising? Why too K? Cow will be foray?" Mayb it's just me with my limited vocab and the fact I never used things like "Y2K" or "Cower before a caliphate glory" in a sentence. Legit the first time I'm hearing these things said (or sung) out loud. Other than that, I quite like the song itself. The instrumental part in the middle is pretty mean.

Not that I wanted to piss Nightwish fans, but this new album will go down as one of the worst Nightwish albums ever.

Yeah, I'm not feeling it. Maybe Nightwish has finally lost me? Looking forward to the album so I can find out if that's the case.
