Hey there, long time I know. And since then I eventually picked up the bass and I'm having way more fun than I ever had playing the guitar - and slap has a lot to do with that. Yet, except "Killing in the name of" and crazy stuff from Primus, I hardly know of any metal song with slap bass so would you know some with at least one memorable moment of slap bass in them? I suspect there's lots to be found in prog metal and for sure in crossover projects such as Infectious Grooves.

Also, I'm fairly certain that Blackwater Park has a slap bass part in it but I'm not sure where exactly in the song.

Written by Zap on 12.07.2025 at 10:27 Thanks, I was never really hooked by Opeth so far but maybe it's time to try again. It appears Blackwater Park - the song - features a slap bass part between 8:00 and 9:00 that's quite like what I'm searching for

The song Dig by Mudvayne is not only a great track but also has an absolutely amazing Slap Bass intro. It's also not the only track by this band which uses this technique, Ryan Martinie is an excellent and quite overlooked bassist.
