Well I couldn't help myself from starting this topic....
Since I just bought the full four seasons of the family guy, and they are so funny I almost shit my pants on every episode..on the other side I also have five seasons of Southpark and the same thing goes on with those so I just cant decide which is my favourite....

I have many DVD's of both as well.........

But most definately South Park for me! They are so politically incorrect and unrelenting! I love their humour

Family Guy. Such a retarded show. Never really gotten into South Park that much.

I prefer South Park over Family Guy although I like FG too, but FG gets old a lot quicker with their talking dog and ubermsnart baby. And South Park is a lot blunter and more politically incorrect.

Umm South Park. Family guy isnt funny and south park is waaayy more original and ive been watching it since is was 12 years old.

I own seasons 1-10 of South Park, so needless to say, South Park easily gets my vote. I really enjoy Family Guy, it's just not as clever as South Park.

I don't like so much South park... It's very borirng sometimes.
Family guy is actually one of the few shows that make me laugh.

I never found South Park to be funny at all. Family Guy is rather amusing though, but I don't really watch it now either.

South Park. Way more good episodes.

South Park has a lot of layers to it underneath the over the top exterior, an a lot of the comedy in it has a very original feel to it even after over 10 seasons (It's scenes like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWraubDyqaA which keep SP fresh, no over show would think of stuff like that), as well as a large range of very good, hilarious and memorable characters. The only downside to SP episodes is the "lesson" at the end which has kind of become a staple for Kyle to explain to everyone but other than that it's a top show, really.

Family Guy on the other hand appears to try WAY too hard to be "random"... I don't like to think of myself as a comedy "elitist" but it takes more than a load of slotted-in pop culture references and a shitload of "this is like the time when..." flashbacks to keep my interest for long. The fact that the most amusing character is pretty much 100% influenced by Homer Simpson isn't too encouraging either...

It's a bit harsh on Family Guy that the other choice is South Park though, Family Guy isn't awful but South Park is probably the best animated comedy ever. All IMO of course

Family Guy is great. I understand it's just joke after joke, random reference after random reference, but sometimes it just works. I never know what to expect. South Park is smarter but tends to be predictable (at least it used to be.) The Guitar Queer-O episode was perfeck.

Best Family Guy Moment: "Yeah, right. That's what they said about Benjamin Disraeli.... ->"You don't even know who I am..."
Best South Park Moment: We like to crap! "We burned you - that was way funnier than Family Guy"

Anyone seen how South Park makes fun of Family Guy? When you think about it, Family Guy is suppose to really suck.......but somehow the way they do randomness after randomness works. Politically (in terms of taking sides) South Park is indifferent, but Family Guy is obviously left-wing, which in my case works just great

I am with Peter Griffin or Griffith or whatever. South Park is sometimes quite childish and some gags make no sense at all and there ain,t funny as when a monster had Ricky Martin in one of his legs. However, some of the dialogues are really awesome and perhaps the best in comedy as when the teacher says "never trust a being that bleeds continously a week per month and does not die".
I have to mention that there are two features from Family Guy that I do not like and can,t understand as when they spend a lot of time without moving or laughing and also when suddenly appear a real life singer or another character for no reason.
Nevertheless Family Guy is double great, a bit more than American Dad, but never so good as The Simpsons or my ever favourite Futurama.

...i sometimes get bored watching south park, it seems most of the time there's just swearing with no apparent reason...family guy always gets my attention, there's just great things coming one after another...i love the sarcastic comments, their humor is quite different and clever, i think there's more creativity behind their random unexpected jokes...

Dude, like half their jokes (probably more) were stolen from the simpsons. Not saying I don't like Family Guy, I like the old stuff, but there are heaps of episodes where you see something and you can say "oh, that's like in that episode of the simpsons where..."

But then again, as South Park said, the Simpsons have done everything.

I love Family Guy, but I gotta admit that it's getting a bit repetitive.. What a deuce?! It's still funny! LOL Besides I never liked South Park that much.

I get bored of South Park quicker then most shows like it so I'll vote for Family Guy because the humor still works and its stayed pretty consistant

SOuth Park by leaps and bounds. FG was boring and old after season 3. And after watching the surfin bird episode i have lost all respect for the show at all. South park on the other hand has its incredibly lame moments, but it has an equivalent awesome episode u just can't stop laughing and watching over. And even after so many seasons, they still find ways to keep it intresting.

South Park for me. FG had its moments I suppose but I've been much more into SP..

Yeah, South Park sure do have better episodes than Family Guy...Family Guy in my opinion can get pretty irritating...the whole "like that time I..." is getting less and less and Seth said that he wanted to cut that out entirely because he feels that the characters are developed enough now to not have that as a crutch...but I appreciate better how South Park deals with current social and political matters rather than Family Guy's virage of cultural references loosely wrapped around a plot and sub-plot that deals with their family members...

IMO i think family guy is much more entertaining to watch than southpark. in southpark they just do parodys of a variety of stuff and make retarded comments towards other things. this doesnt stop them from not being funny personally i like south park but compared to family guys comedy use of flash backs and catch phrases i have to say this one goes to family guy.

Family Guy's okay but South Park's just too good imo lol. Everything that happens in that show just leaves you saying "what the fuck are these writers smoking". It's randum and stupid in an awsome way haha. "OMG they killed Kenny!"

Eric Cartman is god. And that's the end of discussion. (Well, also I haven't seen too many episodes of Family Guy, just 10 or something...v/s 35 or more of South Park)

I despise family guy with a blood frothinng, psychopathic hatred. that show tries waaaaay too hard to make people laugh. i will concede some of the old episodes are genuinely funny, but for the most part, family guy is not that funny. i hate family guy the same way i hate the office. now THATS a show whose appeal is unknown to me...

Southpark, for the fact that:
1. Family Guy is annoying to me
2. Southpark has been getting away with controversial shit longer
3. Southpark is just simply more humorous than Family Guy (which is rare for FG to even get a chuckle out of me).

South park is awesome because they don't hold back on anyone or anything.

and in a time where partisan politics seem to have integrated into every level, with agendas being clearly pushed, i absolutely love the fact that south park continually blasts both sides of the issue.

that and the fact that they used "Raining Blood" as a means to torture hippies.
