I used to listen to a lot of power metal when I was younger, but I don't really do so anymore. But I must admit this album kicks ass

haha it's funny cuz I'm in that very same boat. Some of my favorites growing up are Sonata Arctica, Blind Guardian, and Falconer.

This is a very engaging power metal album that harnesses catchy songs, modern production, and that old school heavy metal feel. The band delivers the typical power metal tropes while remaining authentic and uniquely dark. It's a must-listen for power metal fans.

At this point this band feels to me like a one trick pony. Every album sounds exactly the same and some slight variations between songs. Lot of guitarwork, choirs and ear worm melodies. Feels like I have hear this exact album before even though it was my first listen. They are still pretty good and would like to see them live some day

The album kckatarts from track no.4 and then it ends as a decent one with few tracks very different from earlier tunes.

In the beginning I was made of clay. Then I bit the apple and they changed me to metal 🤘

Having listened to The Order of Fear, I feel a mix of appreciation and critique. The album captures that dark power metal essence we expect from Orden Ogan, with some tracks really hitting hard. While the heavier, galloping riffs in "Kings of the Underworld" are a fantastic opener, I found myself yearning for a bit more complexity in the lyrics throughout.

For me, "The Order of Fear" stands out with its epic choral sections, evoking a strong Manowar vibe, yet sometimes I felt like the overall sound leaned a bit too much on familiar influences, like Blind Guardian. I appreciate their roots, but I wish they’d push beyond those boundaries more often.

That said, there are moments of brilliance, like in "Dread Lord," where the darker tones really shine. But tracks like "My Worst Enemy" feel more like obligatory ballads rather than standout pieces.

Overall, while the album has its share of predictable elements, it’s still a compelling listen. I just hope they can find a way to blend their established sound with more innovation in the future. What do you all think about the balance of familiar and new in this release?
