These are horrible, extremely tragic news. I'm so sad that Brent had to leave this world while he still had pain and anger in his heart due to the Mastodon break-up. What a devastating end.
It is at least somewhat comforting to see the band paying their respects. Rest in peace Brent.

That is devastating. Mastodon is one of the bands I would consider to be among my absolute favourites. Thinking that one of the great voices and just great musicians of the band (despite the recent split) is gone for good is just wild. And such a tragic way to go - too early and so unnecessary. Rest in piece.

Damn, this sucks. I haven't been thinking too highly of Brent in recent weeks due to his apparent attempts at creating drama around his split from Mastodon, but the fact will always remain that he co-wrote and sang some of my all-time favourite songs, and I'll always love him for that. Gone way too soon and at an awful time in his life - just very sad news. His voice and guitar solos were one-of-a-kind and will continue to live on. RIP.

Pretty much what I felt when I read the news of passing of one of the most talented musicians ever. It's equally sad when your longtime friend gets away from the system and you never get to see him again.
I don't think Mastodon will be Mastodon ever again.
