I believe Tompa recorded all vocals in 1 day the day before his, unfortunately, life changing surgery. This album will hit like a freight train for so many different reasons 😭 First single is solid and artwork is hauntingly beautiful - I can't wait to hear this record and shed a tear for Tompa's greatness🤘

That first single is a great track.

The first track is dope af. Feels like the missing link between SotS and the later albums.

Beyond the nostalgia factor, the album has good energy and memorable moments. It never strays from its goal because there's no reason to.

Emotions aside this is a really REALLY great At The Gates album. Great grooves and riffs, great mastering, songs that get stuck in my head. Tompa sounds fantastic. The songs all uniquely speak for themselves which is the same reason I loved At War With Reality so much back in the day. To say they're going out with a bang is an understatement.

Gave this a listen. Haven’t LOVED the last few but found myself banging my head quite often.

Surprised to see this album getting such high ratings honestly. It has its moments and I totally love its aesthetic vision , but sometimes the songs feel like dragging. Maybe i should give it more listens…

Aside from the emotional impact it has (RIP Tompa) it's a fairly decent album containing a few good songs and a few not quite so. Aside from Slaughter Of The Soul I can't say I've ever really been a fan of the band myself, if I was then I suspect it would've hit me harder emotionally, and that could've perhaps impacted on my overall outlook of the album.

At the Gates have once more produced an awesome album. This time they decided not to fuck around and experiment with their sound, simply went back to the roots and delivered.

I have a strong feeling this might be their last one.

I'm neither a fan of At The Gates, nor of this style of vocals, but this is a very good album. Really like the overall sound. R.I.P. Tomas.

What I felt listening to this album is something very personal. It's hard not to be moved by the emotions it evokes. It's a truly spectacular work. The venomous riffs, along with the voice that characterizes the great Tomas, are truly special. "A Ritual of Waste" and "Of Interstellar Death" are, for me, among the best songs. This is a magnificent finale for one of the most important figures in metal. You will always be great, Mr. Tompa.

Well, it ain't bad, a solid effort. I still like To Drink From The Night Itself the most since their reunion.
Let's be real, they peaked in '95, anything that came after might be good but it hardly touches the greatness of SOTS, TSD or TRITSIO. Except maybe To Drink From...

Good riffs, angry , fast and album has higher value now, thanks Tompa for genre and damn good album.

A 7 ratings !?! Really ? 8 at the very least ! 7 its like very standard record that doesnt do much and create moderate to no émotions to the listener ! This record creates alot of émotions !

A banger of an album

I'd argue straight away this is the best Gothenburg and overall melodeath album since 2016. Which says as much about the state of the genre as the album itself; it's been in steady decline for many years, but the guys have just resurrected it, and showed how much there's still to be done. And how it's done, too. Tompa is indeed an incredible person, even in his circumstances, dire and unfair, he still managed to give us all a lasting gift.

Tomb Of Heaven is such a wonderful track. On the other hand, The Fever Mask sounds like the sequel to The Paradox.

Really good album, love it as a whole, but no real bangers unfortunately.

Never been a diehard fan of the band, but always ended up listening to it from time to time. Great farewell to Tompa.

A brilliant album that rounds off the legendary band’s discography. Tompa recorded these vocals in one go, straight after his treatment – I take my hat off to him.

The melody in ‘The Unfathomable’ is something special.

Surprised to see a better rating than their last one but then I could understand the emotion towards Tomas. Music wise I didnt get anything more than their last one. A pretty decent album.
