Sounds like fun...and a bit silly. A good joke on metal in general and especially Goth and Emo kids it seems

Yeah, I saw an add for this in a game magazine a while ago, like, last semester, and frankly, it's gonna kick ass.

There's an umlaut in the title, so it's bound to be awesome.

Notable tracks on the Brutal Legend Soundtrack: Anthrax-Metal Thrashing Mad Black Sabbath-Children of the Grave, Symptoms of the Universe, and Never Say Die Children of Bodom-Angels don't Kill Dark Tranquility-Cathode Ray Sunshine Dethklok-Mermaider Dimmu Borgir-Progenies of the Great Apocalypse Emperor-Thus Spake the Nightspirit A couple Iced Earth tracks I don't know In Flames-Goliaths Disarm Their Davids Megadeth-High Speed Dirt and Tornado of Souls Racer X-Technical Difficulties Rotting Christ-Ad Notics Slayer-Metal Storm/Face The Slayer A couple Tenacious D songs. Pretty much standard stuff I guess, nothing too extraordinary. Might have to plug in my ipod for this one. Nevertheless, I loved Psychonauts and am really looking forward to this release. But seriously. What kind of metal video game doesn't have any Cannibal Corpse?

I'm actually really surprised at the song list - Dark Fortress, Running Wild, Enslaved, Rotting Christ, Angel Witch...Never would have pictured their music in a video game. Not to mention they didn't just pick the most famous song either - ie Motorheads 'Back At The Funny Farm', 'Marching Off To War', and 'In The Black' being included as opposed to the standard 'Ace Of Spades'.

Hahahahahha i actually forgot about this thread a while ago. well, this should be pretty interesting, considering how they worked their ass off to make the soundtrack as good.

I gotta say, seeing Pure Evil by Iced Earth made me extremely excited for this game. It's a shame I don't have an xbox 360 anymore. I won't get to play it for a long time

27.08.2009 - 08:07 Written by Norm on 11.08.2009 at 06:07 This is coming to PS3 & X360 in October. I'm also kinda looking forward to this game, though I don't yet have a current-gen system. Most likely gonna pick up PS3 since I have its predecessors & generally prefer its controller & exclusives... not to mention the big pricecut and hardware upgrade coming around the same time as BL. Also agree with Dr.Rock's post. edit - it appears the 360 will be getting a bit of a pricecut too. Just to quench some of the fanboyness here

I'll be picking this up on payday. I don't play a lot, but this one looks pretty entertaining and even if the game sucks, the soundtrack is killer.

I am about 50% through the game and I can tell you that this game isn't poking fun at metal(maybe a little). If anything it is a tribute to metal. It's like a ultra violent metal themed Zelda. It's a great game if u have a 360/ps3

I initially was upset that it may make metal fans look even more stupid, but Candlemass, Savatage, and Mirrorthrone changed my mind and I have decided to buy it as soon as possible o.o

This game is obviously made by a metalhead fo metalheads. Well gamers, but they have to love metal at least a bit to fully enjoy it. As for the game itself, it's good. Not exceptionnaly so, but very very very fun and that's great. And, believe me or not, the soundtrack is cool

Although death metal ignored throughout the game, I must confess that I have had my face smacked numerous times by the quality of the game's soundtrack. I would never have thought that a band like Anvil is actually worth listening to. Let me also admit, and as an extreme metal fan first and foremost this is something I must "admit", that the game has significantly changed my outlook on the heavy metal scene. I have revisited many of my old Iron Maiden and Judas Priest CDs that, over the course of three or four years, had collected an unforgivable amount of dust. That has to be worth something. Granted, I must also attribute my renewed enjoyment of the heavy metals to the band 3 Inches of Blood (who are also featured in the game). But allow me to get to the point. My comment above that the soundtrack is "[p]retty much standard stuff I guess, nothing too extraordinary. Might have to plug in my ipod for this one", was unjustified. If you have a ps3 or 360, and if you do indeed love metal (in general), fucking buy this game.

I haven't seen this game played before, but from what I read it looks like a lot of fun! It seems to be getting reasonable reviews so it sounds like it isn't just a game with crap gameplay but with a metal soundtrack tacked on to it. A PS2 is the only console I own (though I play all the new games on PC) so unless they release it on my native format I guess I won't be playing this any time soon unfortunately. I'd get a PS3 but I can't afford it and there wouldn't be a whole lot of other games I'd get for it anyway. Hopefully my PS3 owning friend buys it sometime!
