A reflection on experiencing deaths of great/influential musicians, and deaths in general: Why is it that only after someone dies that they really start being noticed and missed? A life whose existence was taken for granted is found irreplaceable only after being taken away. It shouldn't be this way, and yet oftentimes it happens exactly like that. A loss that does not leave the metal community unshaken, leading to a sincere collective recognition of the departed individual's musical achievements and contributions, even among people who never heard that music before.
So appreciate what you have, people... appreciate who you have. And appreciate and support your favorite bands: not just the music, but the people making the music. We're all in this together.



My condolences to Chris's family, Tom, and everyone who knew him.

However, it's not a secret the guy did have some serious alcohol problems in the past.

For me all Sodom looks like alcoholics nowdays, but if he drunk in its no suprsie he pass away, and he was at age about 50 too

Yeah, one of the reasons he was thrown out I believe. Now that I'm reading this I find it funny, I was reading an interview with Angelripper a month or two after The Final Sign Of Evil was released, and he was bashing Witchhunter a lot, saying he was only interested in doing it for the money etc. I doubt he would have said that stuff if Witchhunter died before the interview.
