Awesome power metal band from the US. They have just released their first full-length album, "Enter Deception", which is one of the best power metal releases I have bought in a long time. I seriously recommend checking them out...you'd be missing out otherwise!! www.cellador.com www.myspace.com/cellador

I agree. Just got their debut and all I can say is that it is a major kick-ass Power Metal release. If you like Power Metal, you can't let this one get past you.

I've not yet heard their debut full-length, but the EP they released a while ago is awesome. They're very similar to old school Helloween, and the singer really reminds me of Kiske. Has anyone seen their new video for Leaving All Behind? It's not a great video but the song is excellent and it should get them some serious exposure. I can see these guys hitting it big in the US, which I think is great. Word on the street is they're a bunch of really nice guys too. Ah, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJNcgwAuTaI&search=cellador

The song for the video is pretty good... I don't think it's got a good enough guitar riff to keep me interested too long. But for a band hailing from the US playing euro-power metal they are very good. I'd like to hear the rest of the CD first though to make up my mind on them.

i liked them, isn´t really usual to have a good band from the US (even more it´s power metal!) (americans: don´t get mad guys, but it´s true) i think that the guy sounds a little like Tobi Sammet

Powerful and catchy feel-good Power Metal with a singer that reminds me of Kiske. I listened to the songs on Myspace and they are a must-listen to.

Oh. My. God. I just saw them live on Wednesday. WOW. This is one of the best live bands I have ever seen!!! It's the beginning of their first major tour so that probably explains the extra energy but still. These are guys who love to perfom metal. It was a pretty small crowd but everyone was into it and the band responded. They had SO much fun, each guy was running all around the stage and they kept bumping into each other, it was awesome The music is great too, that was just like a cherry on top. Definitely one of the best shows I've ever seen. THEN I got to speak with a few of the guys afterwards and they're all very very nice. I'd put their bassist on my list of top nicest rock stars ever (and their guitar player on my list of sexiest )

Oh yeah man, they are great! A U.S. band playing Euro-Power Metal! Amazing! But what surprised me most is that Erik Rutan is the producer ov their debut.

@Danzig111: I don't know Erik Rutan, tell us about him. Is it good or band that he produced their album? What else has he produced?

I was surprised by how fast they were. I had heard two songs off their demo and they were good, but every song on this CD is at breakneck speed. Can't wait to see them live.

Account deleted Written by Susan on 26.07.2006 at 20:36 Erik Rutan is a Death Metaller! He is the Vocalist/Guitarrist for Hate Eternal, he played Guitar for a few Morbid Angel albums. He produced his own Hate Eternal albums, he produced Cannibal Corpse's new album as well......I would have never expected him to produce a Power Metal album since it is Death Metal's opposite.

@danzig111 - yes, that is VERY interesting!!! It's one of his first power metal bands... is it a coincidence that it's also one of Metal Blade's first power metal bands? Maybe that's the secret to Celladors's apparent success: don't get stuck in a power metal "rut" without influence from outside sources!

Now that you mention it, I can hear the DM production, especially in the drums. Very flat-sounding, a lot like Cannibal Corpse's. I think it really sounds good on Cellador, whereas a lot of power metal bands are grossly overproduced.

Heard these guys on the radio and I was most definitely amazed... this is what dragonforce should be doing, rather than wowing the poser crowds (that's how it is in my country, well, at least for me ) with uber fast songs that go nowhere, unlike Cellador... good metal indeed...

11.12.2006 - 20:26 Written by [user id=160] on 09.12.2006 at 22:32 Yeah, I don't think that DragonForce "sold out"... but they've done three albums now with little to no real progression between them. Their new album gets insanely boring after the first few listens... very repetitive. We've heard this stuff twice now, on the excellent Valley of the Damned and the somewhat less than stellar Sonic Firestorm. Inhuman Rampage is a flop, in my opinion. Cellador impressed the hell out of me when I first heard them. Their album is fresh, it's exciting, and it doesn't sound like the same rehashed crap that we're so used to hearing in ALL types of metal, not just power metal. So they're definately a breath of fresh air to me.

Sorry for continuing the whole DragonForce conversation msers.....that type of shit may cause this topic to get locked.......so let's go to the DragonForce thread if we wish on continuing the conversation any further. But for the record, I love their latest album! The arcade sound effects are so intriguing! But yes, Ragnvald, Cellador is a breath of fresh air.....It's almsot like Helloween with Bruce Dickinson on vocals. Also as mentioned earlier, the production on the drums is very 'flat' which makes it unique as far as power metal is concerned.

Cellador has "parted ways" with their bassist, Val. I'm so sad! I got to meet him after their show last summer and he was one of the nicest "rock stars" I've ever met. He seemed pumped and excited from the show and we had a great little chat about other cool bands and his influences. He just is awesome. I hope he gets hooked up with another cool band and that Cellador finds a decent replacement!

I listen to this band for the first time today and I thought they are good but yes I agree that a few more good crunchy riffs would help. I did think the vocals where decent though and was pleased with the sound. They are upstarts so hopefully they will build up to something outstanding...needing a bassist could slow do that process.
