But then I am a big Christian Alvestam fan, so I am a little biased I guess. The music is also great too. Im still a bit sad that he left Scar Symmetry, but I love hearing him sing, even it is in other bands. xD

I think it depends on the band as well. Some death metal bands would just sound stupid with clean vocals. I think the more melody in the death metal, the more receptive it is to sounding good with clean vocals.

Written by Zombie on 15.07.2010 at 21:10 I feel the same about Black Metal. I hate when bands start to use clean vocals. Imo, clean vocals don't fit the fierceness of extreme music. But I must admit that I have a negative bias against clean vocals in metal nowadays. Apart from very rare exceptins, I don't listen to metal with clean vocals. And the kind of cleans I like are not really cleans, in fact (things like old Slayer or Kreator).
