Awesome album! Its just a shame that a small amount of fillers near the end of the album prevents it from being a true classic.

Don't forget "Primal Concrete Sledge". It's a bit addicting for some reason though.

I wouldnt really class that song as a filler, although its not as good as the really great songs on the album. I do really love the riff that starts at 1:05 though.

Totally agree with ya there. The slightly lesser tracks IMO are mainly 3, also 8 9 & 10, although sometimes I just love Clash with Reality's ending. The Sleep used to be a favourite but I haven't listened to it in a while... maybe they should swap places...
I've made up my mind that Forbidden's 1990 release was definitely a bit better, and along with them I'd say Anthrax make up the top two big-name Americans for the year

What? "Psycho Holiday" a filler? Thats one of the best songs IMO! xD The fillers do start appearing after "Shattered" though, you're right. Although the album returns to high quality at the end with the awesome "Art Of Shredding". <3 "The Sleep" contains an amazing solo, which is a shame, cos the rest of the song isnt that good.
Yup! "Twisted Into Form" and "Persistance Of Time" were two of the best metal releases of 1990. The latter being my fave Anthrax album. Although I like "Sound Of White Noise", I still think it was madness booting out Joey after making such an awesome album...

The Art of Shredding is NOT a filler track. It's mindblowing.
I do agree however that the other finishers like Medicine Man and The Sleep were fillers.
Aside from them and Shattered, I was blown away with the album. Revolutionary indeed.

Eh? I never said it was a filler track! If you look at my post above yours, you'll see what I think about that song. I don't agree with "Shattered" being a filler, its one of my faves on the album. lol

Maybe image-wise for guys like Fred Durst.

Hm... the last five tracks are more weak than the others, but I don't think these are fillers.

Well I guess this is how you redeem yourself after being a generic hair metal band for a decade.

They might have looked hair metal but didn't play it. And those albums were actually received immensely well back when they were released, by both the press and the public.

Indeed... I think I may even prefer "pre Cowboys" Pantera.... Less "white trash metal" hahha

Pre Cowboys or Per-Anselmo, because somehow he is the one that brought the white trash element in it.

Yes but the press and public were seemingly deluded back in those days. There were far better Hair Metal/Power Metal albums back then that were far less cheesy.

Here beginns the "true" Pantera legacy. Some of their absolute classics are here such as the title track, "Domination" or "Message in Blood".
