I have never listened to the pre-Cowboys Pantera. I don't know if it's for the good or for the bad, but I'm a most happy person to have listened to this piece of Thrash metal. I just can't get enough of this record. After listening to the headliners like Slayer, Metallica and Megadeth etc, Cowboys From Hell made me look at Thrash metal with a new, refreshed mentality. The guys from Pantera created something which was quite different from the traditional Thrash, yet at the same time as true as it could be. What else can I say? Awesome album! Its just a shame that a small amount of fillers near the end of the album prevents it from being a true classic.

The slightly lesser tracks IMO are mainly 3, also 8 9 & 10, although sometimes I just love Clash with Reality's ending. The Sleep used to be a favourite but I haven't listened to it in a while... maybe they should swap places... I've made up my mind that Forbidden's 1990 release was definitely a bit better, and along with them I'd say Anthrax make up the top two big-name Americans for the year

Although the album returns to high quality at the end with the awesome "Art Of Shredding". <3 "The Sleep" contains an amazing solo, which is a shame, cos the rest of the song isnt that good.  Yup! "Twisted Into Form" and "Persistance Of Time" were two of the best metal releases of 1990. The latter being my fave Anthrax album.  Although I like "Sound Of White Noise", I still think it was madness booting out Joey after making such an awesome album...
