Black Sabbath - Headless Cross

Tani Martin sounds like David Coverdale on Black Moon. This is an amazing album, it deserves no less than a 9! "Headless Cross", "When Death Calls" and "Nightwing" are 3 excellent tracks that never get old. The other tracks are also good! It's is a 7.9 just because people can't rate anything that doesn't have Dio or Ozzy higher than 8...

(my favorite non-Ozzy Black Sabbath album)

80s hard rock masterpiece imo

Well good album but I prefere previuslly 2 whit Martin on vocals

Can't stand the Dio wannabe on vocals. The only thing I enjoyed was the title track

What a great album. Only two songs I didn't care for much, but other than that it was great!

Alongside Dio-era Sabbath and Paranoid, this is one of the best things they ever did. It's a thing of beauty, if you can ever call metal music something like that. When Death Calls is the single best ever Black Sabbath song in my opinion. Too bad this album is so hard to find these days.

The singing in Devil and Daughter reminds me of an Evergrey song so much. Tony Martin is great here.

Great vocalist! After Ozzy and Dio, Black Sabbath has still got the moves!

Black Sabbath found the perfect addition in Tony Martin at this point in their career, his vocal style was the perfect replacement for Dio. Cozy Powell was also a great addition, as he was arguably the best drummer around at that point, so this was a great lineup, it was just a shame that Geezer Butler wasn't able to be part of this line up as he was touring with Ozzy Osbourne during that time.

Tony Iommi and Cozy Powell also did a very good job at producing this album, a job they took to doing by themselves. This is a fine album overall, and imo it turned out to be their best album post Mob Rules, in fact this is almost on par with that album. "Headless Cross", and "When Death Calls" are my top tracks on this.

This is soo good! No weak songs to be found here but it needs some time to appreciate all of them. Sure, you will love the awesome title track, Devil And Daughter, When Death Calls and Nightwing but you just have to play this record more than 3 times to admire it fully.

The lead singer's singing skills are beyond doubt, but I would rather hear the riffs and solos of the era that Black Sabbath once shocked us. These can no longer be heard in their later works, which means that their creative energy has declined, but this is the fate of old bands.

Would you guys still like me if I said this was my favorite Sabbath album (Heaven And Hell isn't too far behind )
