It seems that they've just bested all of their previous efforts. Some really intense stuff, a bit darker than usual.

Yep, this is quite a brilliant record. CoL have mastered a genre which can often be very boring with dynamic, varied and interesting songs. Once again they're without peer in their area of music.

Neurosis definitely let me down with the latest. Too safe... So atm I only see this band standing up. Hopefully Neurosis will get their shit together and make a better album so I can at least say that I enjoy more than just one band from this almost-dead genre. I give them the benefit of doubt since this is the first time I feel meh about their material.

Yeah I felt the same about the recent Neurosis. It was very meh, but still seemed to appear on every end-of-year list out there. I think you'll like this record. Each song seems to have an usual effect or texture, or an uncharacteristic melodic lead that really feels fresh for the band, and even genre.

I'll check it out asap. Can't wait to see them live at roadburn sicne they will obviously play some new stuff.

Indeed. I still think there's a chance Abyssal's 1st of January release could go on to conquer all other albums this year.

I agree on that completely. If it were a 2012 release it would only be beaten by Igorrr's and possibly Liber II

Low and Cult of Luna is a great way to start the year. On first listen, I'm quite happy with this album. Theirs have always been growers for me, so no doubt it'll end up towards the top of my year-end list. Almost want to drop my 2012 albums and move on to this full-time.

With these guys you can't go wrong. Another excellent album in their impressive discography.

This is so good, exceeds all my expectations. Crushes Eternal Kingdom tenfold. Couldn't be more happier!

My favorite track:

A truly great album. I liked the variation in the songs. I haven't seen the movie that the album is inspired by, but I definitely got a science fiction vibe from it.

Nice! That's my favorite too! I love this album. I was a bit worried, 5 years is a long time and I didn't especially care for Eternal Kingdom

I really enjoyed this release, it starts to drag a little bit after "Synchronicity" for me, but as a whole, it's still a great album.

This album has a lot of depth to it. I'm really enjoying it and feel like there's still a lot more to discover.

After I am gone with the hype, I can now say it, this is to me the best COL album, although Somwhere along the Highway is real close.

It was noise. It's so awkward that "Noise" can be recorded and is being released. Why people waste their money on such a kind of stuff. You may buy a broken mincer and stick your ear to it. I bet it has more desirable sound than "Cult of Luna" !!

This album is awesome.
I see here too much hate to Eternal Kingdom... one of the best albums of CoL IMO
