Uriah Heep - Salisbury

Not one of their very best albums, but still good. Bird Of Prey is a really great track.

Superb songs. Leave the skip button alone with this one !!

Not as good as Look At Yourself or Demons and Wizards (which I consider to be a 10/10 album), but still an enjoyable collection of songs.

Wow, probably 10 years since I heard this one and I forgot how mindblowing the title track is... the whole 16 minutes are just pure perfection. Prog rock at it's finest. The Park is another highlight, very beautiful.

"The Park" - pretty folk ballad with cool jazzy solos;
"Time to Live" and "High Priestess" - two fine Hard Rockin' songs;
"Lady in Black" - the most famous band's hit with an infectious sing-along refrain;
The title track - an epic 16-minute Prog Rock piece with horns and King Crimson influence.
A very memorable and diverse album - a classic for a reason!

I completely agree, this album is an absolute classic, all the song's you mentioned are truly great, especially "Lady In Black" which for me is one of the best songs ever written!

The true genius of Ken Hensley is in the fact that "Lady In Black" works perfectly just with two chords (Am and G) which is pretty rare for any song and especially for a big worldwide hit! I was very fortunate to see him live in 2003 in Ukraine.

Seeing him play this live must've been some experience, I wish I could've. It just shows that sometimes you don't need anything too complex to prove you are an exceptional musician. Your right, a fine song such as this can often be made by using just a few simple chords, a simple catchy melody with memorable verses and an infectious chorus works wonders, although a great singing voice can also help a great deal.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. I love that old school electric organ sound, way too few bands use it. Naturally distorted organ fits in with rock guitar like a glove. Saxophone with organ is another great couple, but aside from Van Der Graaf Generator nobody seems to use the absolute blast of a combination.
