DragonForce - Complete Writing New Album, Hit Studio In May

Good news for DragonForce fans. The power metal band has just finished writing its second album with new vocalist Marc Hudson, and plan to enter the studio to start recording in May the successor to The Power Within. The band will work on Fascination Studios in Sweden with Jens Bogren and start laying down tracks.

These are the words of guitarist Herman Li: "Right now, everyone in the band is itching to get into the studio to record probably the most epic DragonForce music ever written. With so many ideas flying around and songs already written, we decided to team up with producer Jens Bogren to help us take the DF sound to the next level and beyond!"

The last album was surprisingly good, so I'm cautiously optimistic that this one might be worth keeping an eye on. Dragonforce have always been a band who've shown immense promise, but continuously failed to take full advantage of the obvious talent within the band. "The Power Within" hinted that maybe finally, Dragonforce were capable of delivering the classic album that a band with their abilities should be producing. I'm still sceptical, but for the first time in a long while, I'm actually kinda looking forward to hearing a new Dragonforce album.

Didn't expect them to be working on a new album yet. "The Power Within" hasn't even been out for a year.

If they do what they did on "The Power Within" again, I'll probably be more than happy, as it's one of my favourite power metal albums of 2012 and is still a great listen now. Not making that up in the slightest, by the way!

They have skills as musicians but unfortunately they have none at songwriting. (opinion based on their 4 first albums)
Only mindless wankery that leads nowhere.

Now that's some good and unexpected news. I'm feeling confidence on Herman's words. I'll give it a try
