In sad news today, the world has lost another great musician. The former The Mars Volta keyboardist Isaiah "Ikey" Owens has died of a heart attack at the age of 38. He was currently playing with Jack White. Ikey Owens was out on tour with Jack White in Mexico when he died.

Jack White's management have released this statement: "The coroner has determined that Ikey Owens died from a heart attack the morning of October 14th at approximately 4 am. The only drugs found in his room were a small amount of marijuana. Ikey, born Isaiah Randolph Owens was a Grammy award winning artist best known for his work with Jack White, The Mars Volta, De Facto and Free Moral Agents, among others. He was a beloved member of the music community as well as his hometown of Long Beach, CA."

The Sargent House record label also posted: "Absolutely crushed hearing the news this morning of the death of Isaiah 'Ikey' Owens I'm left speechless at such a tragic loss. I love you Ikey you will be missed more than you could have ever imagined. RIP. damn."

He also played in acts like Free Moral Agents, De Facto and was a guest on two Mastodon albums.
