Disma - Vocalist Explains National Socialist Interview

With the recent explosion of upset Netherlands Deathfest attendees, concerning Disma vocalist Craig Pillard's national socialistic statements in an interview with Mourning The Ancient back in 2011/2012, Craig choose to make a statement about the whole situation to clear things up.

Craig comments: "To whom it may concern, I just want to clear up a few things: I understand why people may be angry. I said (and believed in) some questionable things a long time ago but that is in my past, and I do not associate with any of it anymore. I'm a different person now and am in no way affiliated with those previous beliefs, and neither is Disma.

Disma has absolutely nothing to do with politics nor is it a platform or vehicle to spread ideology or political ideas of any kind. I personally do not belong to any political groups or organizations and neither do my band mates in Disma.

Disma is a death metal band, period. Our goal is to create music we enjoy and for our fans worldwide. Our friends and fans know who we are."

Because he was national socialistic just for that interview. Of course, silly me.

Not defending his former self, though glad he confessed and cleared up, but no one says he was an extreme ideologist in 2011/2012 only. He has been in bands since late 80s.

Some of his responses in that interview are so utterly ridiculous and laugh worthy that one really can't help but think that, at least to some degree, he wasn't being serious

Kinda of sad the guy had to make this explanation coz of those crybabies on the NDF page (I assume it is so). Anyway, good for him if he changed his views, that I even doubt were honest seeing how ridiculously over the top some could be (and such things for attention or simply lulz are not new in metal anyway...).

He did/does have a solo project called Sturmführer, though.
