Noctem - To Record New Album

The Spanish blackened death metallers Noctem will soon enter the studio to record their fourth studio album, expected to be released in the spring, 2016. This upcoming album will follow 2014's Exilium, released via Prosthetic Records.

Noctem members Beleth (vocals) and Exo (guitars) commented: "This new album marks the next step in our career with a compeletely different sound and more personality. We're facing the creative process in a more dynamic way this time around, leaving our usual patterns and finding a more peculiar sound. It's going to be a conceptual album, based closely on Spanish history. We're trying our best to give our followers the album of our career."

I hope it's better than the flop that was Exilium. Oblivion was pretty dope tho.

As it happens, a couple of days ago I was listening to Oblivion and then Exilium. Sure Oblivion is a LOT more inspired, yet I like Exilium and won't call it a flop. Good news to hear about them coming back to studios and I really wonder what will come next as they have lost 3 of their members lately...

PS : I'd like to have your opinion : do you like their first album ? I don't have it but have listened to it tho, yet I cannot get "into" it.

I just felt Exilium was really uninspired. The previous album just had more..."oomph" or whatever xD

I haven't heard their debut sadly, but when I do I won't be expecting much to be honest.

Tried to listen to their debut last night but it sounds so generic, like their 3Rd album indeed. But now with such a major change in the lineup I'm not expecting too much. Really bad because Oblivion is a lot better than tons of other albums and I wish NOCTEM had gained some popularity from this album.
