Ayreon - New Sample Available
The following message was posted on Ayreon's official website:
"The very first vocalist for the seventh Ayreon album was recorded in the Electric Castle Studio last week. We're not revealing the name of the vocalist just yet, but you can listen to a sample of the voice (without instruments) here.
During the time leading up to the official announcement of each of the vocalists participating on the new Ayreon album, we'll be giving acapella previews of every vocalist. Currently 12 vocalists have been confirmed, and a few more will be added.
Discuss the sample, and all things Ayreon, on our messageboard or on Arjen's official MySpace site".

WARNING! SPOILER!!! This was posted by Arjen in the official forum, after some pages of discussion between curious fans...: "You've got it, it's Magali Luyten! SHE's a young and talented rising star from our 'neighbours' Belgium. Amazing *and* goosebumps The lyrics were really close, here they are: Carry out your dangerous task, sail uncharted spheres Live out our dreams, ride the comet! Journey on the Migrator trail, cross the new frontiers Pass on our genes (jeans, haha!), ride the comet!" She is known from the band Beautiful Sin, where Uli Kusch plays.

Almost all my favoured bands are releasing something this year! just need a new Opeth album, and a Pink Floyd reunion And he's going to release acapella samples with all 12 (and more) vocalists!!! I can't wait!

Why is this band even on the site. Such overrated light poppy dribble mixed with some prog and everyone laps it up like antifreeze at a petting zoo.

And yet another total shitty song by the overrated Ayreon. My god why do people even like this? I still can't figure it out.

19.06.2007 - 10:11 Written by Doc G. on 19.06.2007 at 10:00 Well, Arjen is a nice guy. But musically I just don't get the fuss about him, especially concerning Stream of Passion. The only stuff he is on I can slightly stand is the really old stuff, namely when he was in Bodine and later on in Vengeance.

19.06.2007 - 11:26 Written by Marcel Hubregtse on 19.06.2007 at 10:11 Arjen's work has yet to do much for me either, though I do like his choice for vocalist on this little sample here... Stream of Passion was highly overrated for me too, though I did like the track "Deceiver" very much. The only Arjen project I enjoy personally is his 2001(?) project called Ambeon So, don't worry, there are even some melodic fans out there like myself that don't understand why he's on godlike status

19.06.2007 - 17:30 Written by Marcel Hubregtse on 19.06.2007 at 09:56 Not a very mature statement to come from a moderator. I'm sure I would find some of you're favoured bands bad, but that doens't mean that I can figure out why people like them. And I'm sure it's not impossible for you either to figure out why people have a slightes interest in Ayreon. By the way, what do you mean "song"?

Account deleted Written by Marcel Hubregtse on 19.06.2007 at 09:56 to each their own, sir. remember that. and for a "moderator" you're very immature. if you don't have anything good to say about Ayreon then don't post here because this news is for Ayreon fans only obviously. no need to be a little kid about it, trying to ruin the news by saying stupid things like "OMGZ AYREON SUXXXS!!111" a big for you. Ayreon owns your entire soul and you'll never be better than Arjen. you don't even realize and that's all that really matters

She's got a powerful voice, but I didn't like it that much I think will sound a lot much better with music... @ doosh: I think that Marcel is as free as anyone else in this forum to submit an opinion, no matter if it's positive or negative towards the band. Marcel has several times explained why he doesn't like Arjen's projects with strong arguements, and even when I don't agree with him, I respect his opinion.

That aside I am anxiously awaiting Ayreon's new album. The voice to me sounded like Eric Martin of Mr. Big, and it also sort of reminded me of Steve Perry from Journey.

Or at least he can show us his great arguments. I totally respect that he doesn't like Ayreon, but in the way he put it - and as a moderator! I just don't respect it. Yes of course moderators can post negative opinions towards bands, but as I've said some times now - not that way!

One of those bands I keep trying to listen to and they just don't do anything for me. Human Equation is good, some of the others are just so pretentious. Arjen seems to have an endless supply of support from the Gods of European metal.. He creates really nice soundscapes though.. Aina works better i think.. for a supergroup kind of thing.
