Moonspell - Launch Second New Track From Upcoming Album

"Common Prayers" is the second video/single - after "The Greater Good" - released from Moonspell's forthcoming album. It has just premiered on YouTube and you can watch it now below. Hermitage is due out on February 26th, 2021 via Napalm Records.

The band comments: "Directed by Guilherme Henriques and featuring the actress, singer and performer Aurora Pinho, this clip was shot 90 meters below the surface at the amazing caves of Grutas de Mira de Aire, one of Portugal's seven natural wonders.

"With a classy Gothic and catchy feel, this is Moonspell at their best songwriting skills. The lyrical content is 'perverse, almost religious' and deals with the 18th century pregnancy surge amidst Portuguese nuns. Twenty century demolitions and excavations unearthed the bones of hundred of children, revealing the sad faith of Jesus's sons and daughters. You are a common prayer!"

I'm glad they've gone back to their atmospheric gothic sound, reminds me of the sound they had on "The Antidote" and "Darkness and Hope".
Hoping Ricardo will have solos on the some of the other songs though!

The keyboards kicking in after the opening riff were a pleasant surprise. I liked the song, lyrics are good as usual and it's good to hear more of Fernando's cleans after 2015. I missed them in 1755.

At the same time I'm hoping for a little more of the harsh vocals, so far both songs had just a few seconds of growls towards the end.

Same here. the riffs and the overall guitars in the background have been nice in both songs. For this one, I felt he was almost lining up for a solo, then the vocals came back. what a tease!

Their going through gothic for sure. Clear tone but still with that typical dreamy feeling. This one reminds me Omega white album.

This one, sadly, is not for me...

Not my cup of tea either but to speak the truth Extinct was my introduction to Moonspell but I never managed to get into their older stuff. 1755 is quite different but I like it.

I started listening to Moonspell with Irreligious. That album is the seminal for me. After that one, their discography has been somewhat like a roller coaster.
