"In Darkness Comes Beauty" is the first album of Dark The Suns, a new combo made in Finland. Like a lot of other bands from the country, this new band plays a kind of Gothic Metal which is however a bit more aggressive with some Death Metal voices and big riffs. "In Darkness Comes Beauty" is not revolutionary but it's a pleasant album and will probably satisfy all the people who use to listen to such kind of music.

For sure, "In Darkness Comes Beauty" follows the trend of a ton of Finnish Metal bands which play a kind of depressive and dark Metal. All the songs of the album are dark, with in general some kind of mid tempos, it's really melodic and really sad too but on the other hand, the songs of Dark The Suns never lack of energy and it's cool to see that sometime some bands of this country can add a bit of originality in their music. No, Dark The Suns is not a new Him or To Die For, this band is definitely more Metal and that's great. Though don't expect something violent too, "In Darkness Comes Beauty" is a bit more like a fast Swallow Sun album and in general, the choruses leaded by some nice piano melodies are really catchy.

"In Darkness Comes Beauty" is a good album in the style but of course if you're looking for something really revolutionary and cannot stand Finnish Metal, I doubt that it will be a revelation for you. The songs are extremely commercial and even if it's a bit more heavy and violent than the majority of the releases which come from Finland, this is not so surprising too. Dark The Suns is a bit like a really melodic Moonspell, it's good and nice to listen to such kind of Metal and for sure it's well done here but I cannot say that it's the kind of albums that I will listen to again and again in the future. Some surprises and magical stuff are missing in this release but I think however, with such a first album, that this band will be able to produce great things in the future.

I will not be too enthusiast for this first release, I think that the first album of the band is a good release but they're able to do better things too. We have good ideas in this album so let's hope that the combo will be able to develop them and find a sound a bit more personal. If they can do it, I can guarantee that they will become a famous Finnish combo. If you like Swallow The Sun, Moonspell and (new) Paradise Lost and are not afraid of dark Melodic Finnish Metal, this release was made for you but of course if you're looking for something dark and really heavy I'm afraid that it will be too melodic for you. Have a look on "In Darkness Comes Beauty" without being perfect I think that some of you will like it a lot.

Your review pretty much sums up my opinions on this release as well It's a good disc, and a great starting point for the band to really improve on their next CD. The production is great, and the band certainly knows how to write and arrange a catchy song from start to finish... And yes, they really are like a faster Swallow The Sun! But, with lots of melancholic and gothic style keys peppered everywhere. Personally I've enjoyed it more than the last STS, who knew? Thanks for bringing the band to my attention

While not groundbreaking, this is certainly a nice album of melodic metal...

To me this album sounds like For My Pain with added growls and just a bit more complexity. And they've kinda copied the Insomnium vocal principle too. Buuuut, you know, still have to listen to the rest of their stuff, so I'll let this sit.
