In ten years, Sergeant Thunderhoof have grown quite a bit, from a noisy, nasally stoner band doing the half-Sabbath/half-Sleep routine into a versatile practitioner of atmospheric, folkloric, and epic variants on the style. This is a really good album, it has a great sound, and is exceedingly well crafted and full of emotion. In fact, I'd say it's one of the best stoner metal albums I've listened to this year!

Very similar vibes to the last one, including the very effective emotional moments and the very occasional irritations - has brevity on its side compared with This Sceptred Veil though. At times (particularly with the amazing closing song Beyond The Hill), it captures that 'melancholic stoner' feel that makes Spaceslug so god even more effectively than that band's 2024 album did. Nice release!

Great band great record I’ve been listening those guys since their debut, the band made really made improvements on their sound in the last couple of records.
