Personally I prefer Iron Maiden because they were the ones that started the whole movement, though Metallica gave it the strenght to amaze the whole world, but you know Maiden is Maiden and they have really become legends.

Both bands were extremely popular when I was little. During the early 90's late 80's I would have said Metallica, But Iron Maiden has been more consistent to this date! So I voted Iron Maiden.

Iron Maiden because: 1) They are more consistent throughout the years. 2) They write better lyrics. 3) They influenced Metallica. 4) They have better album covers than Metallica. 5) They have Dickinson, who is a thousand times better than Hetfield. 6) They have Eddie!

Of course Iron Maiden. They have more band member than metallica. (something happen to the Beatles when compared to nirvana, and Yngwie wins all if we count in ex-band member)

Maiden!... Metallica only has 4 albums i like. Maiden already had 4 classic albums out by the time Metallica came out with Kill E'm All. And Maiden has had tons more classic albums.

I like Iron Maiden more,because they are still making good music,although there were us and downs.....Metallica is also very influential ,but somehow they went too commercial....

Up To The Irons!!  This as soooo Easy! I like many iron maiden songs, their almost never disapoint, and metallica, well... their have an "extreme boring" Nu Metal album, and on top of that, i don't like much trash metal... Master Of Puppets- Best Metallica song!

Iron Maiden will always be better than Metallica, because Iron Maiden always had great albums (even those with Blaze Bayley on voice - but their life versions with Bruce are great) while Metallica began to be interested more about money and less about the music.

Iron Maiden was what I voted for. As for Metallica, I like them, and all their pre-1990 albums are great, but I still think Iron Maiden put out more influential albums, some of higher quality, and continued on and at least put out 1 or 2 half decent albums after Seventh Son. After the black album, Metallica was done. I don't care what the enter sandman people say, they were done.
