Actually either of them didn't play well.

Romania were capabale to pull off 2 to 3 goals against France(as they've played much better in warm ups) and due to strikers being shoddy on converting them, they lost the match.

France were pathetic on field while major chunk goes to goalkeeper as he wasn't manage to play well from his position. Had not been that spectacular goal in the end swayed away by Payet, this match shamelessly would ended in a draw.

Pretty much miss the old school football technique where defenders just forward to mid-fielders, scoop to opponent's D top and strikers take a call and score it in best possible way.

Germany evolved and changed it to better defensive and counter attack policy where they believe in rotating ball in defensive section and make moves from flanks.

In Italy match, i saw the same thing. Belgium would've gone agressive in >10 mins and should have started lopping ball to forward so that they can attack on goalkeeper to build pressure. They wasted hell lot of time in rotating and giving back ball to goalie so that they can spread the field. Pretty disappointed I would say considering majority of time, you score when you create a pressure on them.

It can turn a bit weird because of EC and so on, some teams has no best form, condition, motivation and even can affect later in main play ff games, because 2-3 players wont be in shape

Watching Manchester City vs West Ham and it really is starting to look like Pep's vision is already starting to come to fruition. The pressure on the ball is huge, the movements in attack are brilliant and City are 2-0 up inside 20 minutes. I wouldn't bet against City taking the PL title this season.

EDIT: still, as per usual with Guardiola's sides, the defence isn't the most convincing.

Well deserved victory, Pep outclassed Mou once again and without Bravo's massive screw-up, United wouldn't have scored a single goal. Still, as a City fan I am worried about their second-half performance (again). It's like they give everything in the first half, then relax, take their foor off the pedal and think they can cruise to an easy victory. Kind of weird and unexpected from a PL team. They should know there are no easy victories in this league... still, glad for the victory.

Amazing performance from Messi last night against Colombia. I feel so bad for the little genius, he has no team around him, Bauza is clueless as a coach. Argentina are pretty much a one-man team at this point. The freekick goal was glorious, but what really drove this point of Messi-dependence home yesterday was the third goal. The ball was lost, the Argentina player closest to the ball didn't even bother, Messi ran something like 15 meters and stole the ball through sheer willpower, which lead to the third goal. Di Maria the choke-artist got the goal, but that goal was all Messi, again. If he had a team around him and a head coach, who knew what the fuck he was doing, he'd have won many international titles by now. Cristiano has all the luck in the world, Messi has none.

On a domestic level, I suppose Swansea City, which is turning out to be quite a depressing experience this year. I highly doubt will we avoid relegation the way we are playing at the moment and the current trend of smashing through managers before they get a chance (in English football in general to be fair, not sure what it is like in the rest of Europe) is making it so we will never have a proper chance to rebuild. Unfortunately if we go down to the Championship I cannot see us going straight up like Newcastle, for instance, have done and look to be doing again. We shall see though, just keep cheering them on and hope for the best.

Well that was abysmal. I wasn't expecting to get anything from the Arsenal game, but losing 4-0 with two own goals was certainly not the way I wanted it to end. Not blaming the new manager at all as it will certainly take more than one game to get everything back where it should be, but we need to buck our ideas up if we are going to stay in the Premier League this season!
