21.07.2014 - 22:46 Written by [user id=4365] on 21.07.2014 at 22:33 Ok, this is off-topic as it went out in 2012. But listening to their EP now, and it sounds a lot more cavernous and not as heavy as that track in the compilation. Still good shit. They have a little Necros Christos in their sound that I like very much. -------- Idylls - Praying For Terrene Torturing, very heavy, post-hardcore/black/math/salsa or whatever.

^I don't hear any salsa in this... I thought it was gonna be a post-hardcore version of Le Scrawl

22.07.2014 - 01:00 Written by Karlabos on 22.07.2014 at 00:56 Nevermind, it gets a little more complicated after that opener, which is actually one of the most structured and aggressive of the album. I'll just go with post-hardcore.

Calling it post-hardcore is a bit misleading, as usually people think of post-hardcore as being less heavy than normal hardcore, and that album is heavier than most hardcore and even extreme metal. Definitely more experimental than normal hardcore though. Maybe noise rock or mathcore would be more precise? Definitely somewhere along those lines.

22.07.2014 - 17:41 Written by Ganondox on 22.07.2014 at 17:31 I would not call it noise rock at all. Mathcore in some songs but not the whole album. Experimental? I don't know, the weird song structures and a little genre-hopping might justify it. But I never thought of post-hardcore as less heavy than regular hardcore. I don't think it works that way.

22.07.2014 - 18:25 Written by Ilham on 22.07.2014 at 17:41 No, it doesn't work that way, technically speaking post-hardcore is any music derived from hardcore punk which has evolved to be distinct from hardcore, but a lot is lighter than hardcore as that's how it became distinct from hardcore. All the post-hardcore bands I can think of (Fugazi, Zen Arcade, At the Drive In, Pierce the Veil ect.) are for the most part lighter than hardcore, or they are classified as noise rock or math core. I'm not saying it isn't post-hardcore, unless it can be called hardcore it definitely is, but when I think of post-hardcore I think of something lighter, and I think most people do as well. As for whether or not it's noise rock, it's noisy, dissonant, lacking in any conventional structure, and makes heavy use of feedback, but is still based in rock instrumentation, which is pretty much the definition of noise rock. It sounds quite a bit like the heavier noise rock bands I know, though this is more directly based in hardcore. I'd say it's more noise rock than it is mathcore. Well, there is a lot of overlap in these genres anyway, so whatever. " Experimental? " In comparison to regular hardcore, definitely, but I don't think it would be that much of stretch to call it experimental in general. Speaking of post-hardcore, I was about to recommend Bad Brother by Two Inch Astronaut, but then I saw it's a 2013 album.

25.07.2014 - 20:36 Written by Ilham on 25.07.2014 at 20:30 Of course I know them. Also... While I'm not the one to use that one-word response in real life too much I'm actually going to quote the video itself in order to defend my case: "As if it's to suggest the initial postulation was so absurd, so obviously absurd, that the mere thought is mentally taxing to them". Yes. That's why I only wrote one word.
