Personally I prefer Iron Maiden because they were the ones that started the whole movement, though Metallica gave it the strenght to amaze the whole world, but you know Maiden is Maiden and they have really become legends.

12.01.2012 - 01:29 Written by mrgod on 29.11.2011 at 19:27 That certainly is an uncommon opinion. Guess im Gonna vote for Metallica because I think Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are better then anything Maiden ever did.

12.01.2012 - 02:32 Written by [user id=17278] on 12.01.2012 at 02:01 I've never been a fan of Metallica but, come on, any Metallica album until "And Justice For All" included easily beats anything Maiden released after "Seventh Son". Even a non-Metallica fan who likes 80s Maiden like me can admit it.

Ok now I think we can stop bashing that poor fellow, everyone has different opinions even though I do not agree with his statement. But yeah maiden is maiden, imo their first 9 albums are classics, yes yes, im totally including No Prayer and Fear, go fuck yourselves yall... Sorry metallica, they have a superiority on the numbers.

14.02.2012 - 21:44 Written by RavenKing on 12.01.2012 at 02:32 Well Iron Maiden's newer albums are considered masterpieces to some extent. Brave New World, A Matter of life and death and The Final Frontier. In my case I'd pick A Matter of life and death over any Metallica album, I just absolutely adore that album to pieces!

Maiden. More influential, more classic albums, and there isn't a "Lulu" on their career.

16.02.2012 - 08:29 Written by Boxcar Willy on 16.02.2012 at 02:34 why does it matter? the question is iron maiden vs metallica why do i have to put anything besides the band name? if i asked you pizza or steak do you have to say pizza then give a huge list of why you want pizza, but to satisfy you iron maiden more classic albums, more influencial, didnt sellout their enough now?

I'm undoubtedly going to get some flak for this but why are people saying that Maiden didn't sell out? sure they haven't got anything along the lines of St anger and the Black album etc. but its Maiden who keep flooding the market with increasingly redundant live albums, DVD's, "best of" compilations (do not get me started on their most recent one) they have even released an in studio book (sure Metallica have released some live albums and some compilations but nowhere near the scale that Maiden has), This reeks of selling out. Dont get me wrong I like Maiden's music and all (well.. the 80's stuff anyway), But people who say that they aren't in it for the money are (sorry about this) wrong.

Before I would have said Metallica, but now Iron Maiden all the way. Maiden have consistently released stronger albums than Metallica, and today it really shows. Can you really compare St. Anger to for example, A Matter of Life and Death? (i don't think so).

Iron Maiden. I've loved Metallica since way back too, but Iron Maiden was the first band I totally lost it for (I was only 12, ah those were the days...) plus they have a sense of humour about what they do. And, Nicko McBrain still only plays on one kick drum. I don't know why, but I like that - shows commitment and a refusal to follow a trend

I have always found Maiden to be rather bland and generally without variation. I don't know why. Drop off all of Metallica's crap albums and my vote goes to them.

Maiden by far.....Better musicians, better stage presence, better albums in general, better cover art, better mascot, none of the members have never been to rehab/ better people and better later albums....more albums than metallica, no lulu, no ultra mullet in the 90's, no napster incident, no somekind of monster crap.....yeah thats about it

10.05.2012 - 20:24 Written by @gent_-_orange on 22.02.2012 at 15:12 I totally agree with you @gent but that doesn't stop the fact that they have more good albums than Metallica, the sound didn't changed too much they stayed what they were with less creativity (no wonder... considering the career) of course now they sell compilations.. and shits but the important in all this is that their golden years surpasses anything Metallica ever achieved.

If Metallica had held the good sense after album #4 to either continue in the same vain OR quit while they were ahead I'd probably be voting for them just now... ...It just so happens that Iron Maiden are a great deal more consistent, in my opinion, whereas Metallica have had so many shaky moments that I break out in a cold sweat any time they release anything new.

First three Metallica albums are classics but after MOP they trade themselves and every year become worst and worst. Blaze made a shit of Iron Maiden but Bruce correct thet with Brave New World and albums recorded after this...

Wow is this one still alive? Maiden of course cooler album covers, better musicians, a lot more of "good material", Eddie, better stage pressence, Maidens midget is the singer not the drummer, can handle their alcohol intake, cooler accents, Steve Harris etc
