I like the album art, but... anyone else feel like there's too much wasted space? the main illustration takes up like only 30% of the screen

Fantastic work, not my favourite style, not very sure if i will keep listening to this, but is shocking on how good evaluated is. Is good for sure, but not close of 8,7 (which is how we evaluate true metal classic albums and true masterpieces).

Rarely in the past few years I have been impressed by an album at the first listening.
As a long time Paradise Lost fan since buying Shades of God CD (Gothic never hit me), I'm very happy they found this new energy and creativity.
Now let's hear a new Bloodbath with Old Nick

After a week of listening to it sporadically, I'd say it's a very good introduction into the band; but I hoped I'd want to return to it more as I go, and it... didn't happen. Something is still missing for me. But I'm totally fine with it being an overall hallmark of this year. It's a great record, very easy to recommend.

Regarding ratings and top200s, I'd not rate it the same way as, say, Kinship. Yes, it's a great record, but it's not even close, sorry.

First listen, this is surprisingly good. I thought the album opener was the weakest song.

it needs more listens to sink in properly.

Very solid record, but this is much less prominent than Obsidian, which I rated 10, for it spoke to me in a very deep level during the pandemic and had more stand-out songs.

After a few listens I do feel they've recycled many ideas of earlier albums.. even a few riffs here and there sound very familiar. I wouldn't say that's a bad thing though... just takes away some of the charm for me

Give to this album 5 as 6 it's a crime !! People should clean their mind and listen this like no comparison from the past or been pressure by others rates !! This is a masterpiece and a perfect mix between " Gothic " , " Icon " and " Draconian times".

Really great album, although singles Serpent On The Cross and Silence Like The Grave remained my favorites. Especially Silence Like The Grave is like perfect epic song which got me to preorder my very first Paradise Lost album.

No weak tracks, although the slower doomy parts don't work for me as well as some faster parts. I'll make another try to listen older classics which have never grabbed me. I have a feeling this time it might just happen.

I also think it's overrated, but the score shows that people tend to compare it with all the other bands' works this year rather than with the band's previous works. The reason for this is that we haven't heard new good works for too long compared to before 2020.

Again these guys are back with a bang. Beautiful melancholic doom metal with all the required elements. Everything starts from track no.4 and then it is endless pleasure.

It felt repetitive to me, like it was a continuation of the previous album (Obsidian)...

Really great choices in lyrics and they feel like they are chosen with care. The music adds to the whole atmosphere of this release, great leads adding texture to all the songs.

I prefer everything from Paradise Lost post Requiem than their classics. Tried many times to understand whats so special about Draconian Times and still to this day cant understand. On the other hand, Requiem, is one of my absolute favorite albums.

Icon is a much better album then Draconian Times. Also Shades of God was great, i played it a lot at some point.
Draconian Times was a more polished and catchy version of Icon.

A strong mix of old and new

After quite a few spins, I'd probably give this around an 8.5. It sits right in between Medusa and Obisidian in terms of enjoyment for me. From the last 4 records, I still like The Plague Within the most, though.

And here you are contributing to this nonsense. I also have never written a script or shot a motion picture, but I can still have an opinion about movies being good or garbage. Most of art is put out to the public to be consumed and discussed. There are absolutely no stakes to having different (or even shit) opinions about art.

You can say about an album that "you like it or you don't like it" you can't say it's good or bad, that's what I really wanted to say.
