Interested in hearing what injuries you've taken in the mosh pit?

Ive had the usual ons that you get, bruises and sawness, and one time i had my big toe dislocated by this massive guy that jump backwards and landed on my toe popping it out. Oh my word did it hurt, but the pit was to compacked that i had to wait until the set change over to go off to the side and pop it back in.

'Injuries You've Had In The Pit' meaning exactly what it says. Its more interesting and entertaining to hear about the injuries ... not whether you stand there doing nothing. Thank you for you cooperation.

In Israel.

Well, i only have to say something about this thing in general. When Nile was here, they said that we're the evilist sounding crowd EVER. It's probably just something to keep the fans happy, cos noone really cares if they mean in wholeheartedly or not.

As for moshpit injuries, i have none. And that's because i don't go there. Sure i headbang during a show, but that has more feeling to it than moshing. Some kind of rythm in it at least. Moshing is something that's the same no matter what music is played (people just don't mosh to Britney or something....i think ). Headbanging varies more to the music. Plus i agree with what Maidenvarius said. If i PAY to see a band, i care more for the show than getting an accidental punch to the face and passing out.

Moshing is good, if its done with consideration for others - for instance, if I go to a gig, I know front center is gonna be a mosh pit, so I stand front right or front left and enjoy the gig - its certainly not dispectful to a band if you don't mosh although I agree some bands do take energy from it. I personally don't mosh, a light banging of the head maybe - but I like to watch the show. Reminds me of when I saw Black Sabbath last year, managed to get tickets to their Donington warm up show, only 1000 capacity venue, probably less. Everyone was just standing still and these two guys were trying to mosh near us - literally TWO guys, drunk as fuck. Well I was with a group of friends, I had my girlfriend at the time and my mates girlfriend with me as he wanted to get real close. Well after about 5 minutes of having to catch both of them, I saw one of them coming again, made to put my arm round my mates girlfriend so it looked accidental and elbowed him in the face. They didn't bother us again.

well done man...something like that occured to me at a Helloween show a few months ago...I went with a group of friends (some girls too)...I was like, in the third row, and I felt someone touching me (you get the idea)...I thought it was one of the girls I came with, but when I turned back, aaahhh...a dude...fuck, I dont care if Im going to be the last in line, I dont want to see the show with some pervert touching my ass...nothing else happened, no big deal...but it felt really weird...well thats my story, I watched the show from the back...it was a great show though...Im a headbanger, but I dont mosh...I cant enjoy the show while moshing...ok, I was not really injured, but I lost my walet and one of my shoes...anyways...I saw the same guy yesterday...hmm...and...

I mosh at every show I go to and crowd surf most of the time. I've been lucky and have never really been injured too severely. Sometimes I regret moshing because I can't watch the band, but it's way more fun to fight.

i think your the type that id avoid in the pit lol, as im not very big built i try and stay away from the death spiral because at the gigs i go to the guys on the out side just through the innocent in, haha id be mauld in there
Although crowd surfing is fun ... only downer, when there are females in the pit (very rarely here) and the crowd move you towards them while your on top... you usually end up on the floor haha

haha yeah I hate it when chicks are in the pit. A couple of years ago I was at some concert, in the pit, and I felt a couple of people rubbing against me...a lot. I got pissed, turned around, and fucking hit these two people in the face, only to notice that they were 2 girls that I just knocked on the floor! I felt so bad, but I was too embarassed to help them up so I just ran away.

Ok people, thanks for saying what your like when your in a pit or if you just stand back and watch ... but saying that your a person that likes to stand back and not get involved is a pointless in a 'Injuries You've Had In The Pit' as it was opened for people add what injuries they've sustained in the pit as its more interesting and entertaining to here the stories.

** Please just add the injuries you've taken **

I Own You Bitch
You know, never in my right mind I would have voluntarily gone into a mosh pit, unfortunately for me, I've been pushed into one in my pathetic attempts to reach the stage, say for example, many many years ago when I went to see Cradle of Filth I was going round with my boyfriend, trying to get to the front closer to my Dani, well suddenly a small moshpit started to our left and some dude came flying to me, pushing me towards the big moshpit on my right, oh well... I wasn't exactly hit, more like groped *death glare*, I would have rather been hit I think, some men can be such pigs...

Oh but that's not just it, women can also be bloodless dirty pissbags, when I was at a Tristania concert, which also featured Aesma Daeva and HIM, about 5 years ago, I was also trying to get to the front towards my beloved Morten and a couple of bitches from behind me started pulling my hair until they had me in the floor and stepped over me to get closer, luckily my friend pulled me up quickly and we left the crowd.

In another concert, this one I believe was Unleashed not long ago, my friend Julie decided it would be a good idea to stay in the mosh at the beginning... oh bad idea, really bad idea, I didn't want to stay there at all, but she begged and begged and by the time I was ready to get the hell out of there after much negotiation, the pit closed up on me and I was trapped there for the most intense 3 seconds of my life before I was spilled out of it, my friend right behind me, I swear I dont understand what appeals to men about mosh pits >.<

Male bonding?

I too dont understand that (even being a guy myself ), being shoulder to should with other men that are all sweaty and stinkyness ... *shudders* kind gross when you think about it. Although when im there in one i dont really care all that much, other people are putting up with it and enjoying the bands music why not do the same. Another thing i dont tend to think about when your in one is when your on top of the pit surfing ... all those strangers touching your body is really creepy when put like this. Ohwell

I love moshing... and I would defenetly mosh to a band I've paid to see... But if it is really on of my favourite bands I'll watch too... from in front of the mosh pit
anyway, more ontopic, I've never really had a moshing woulnd or something... I've lost my shue a couple of times and usually aquiring it back really really sux i don't know how I don't get really hurt in there cause I'm pretty short and usually lots of elbows of taller guys end up in my face... still, moshing rocks... crowdsurfing is also great... I love it and hate when the guards or whatever are asswholes about it and get you ejected from the venue if you do it...

Fuck, Dudes!!Moshing excites me, sure i do it normally to enjoy the music, rhythm and feel some brutal punches over my body but not get get brutally disfigured;D
The one thing o don't like is if you mosh, somebody hits your face cuz you disturb him to stand motionless like a frigid undeflorated virgin, shitz..
I broke my arm during moshing..it sucked but anyways it didn't prevent me from doing it again.

I am a fan of moshing, whether to vent some anger, enjoy music or just to kick the shit out of noobs or whoever desides to join in. I have had my share of injuries from the pit. One time I was in the thick of things, and I got owned by some 6'5" 350 pound guy and fell to the ground just to have him pushed on to me. Now I am a pretty big guy, about 6'1" 180 pounds, but this guy just demolished me, partly with his elbow to my head - leaving a huge bump - partly with his beer bottle/beer, and partly with his massive weight. If you can believe it, I was a bit winded, but mustered up the strength to reenter the pit and enjoyed the rest of the concert.
At another show, I got pushed very hard from behind when I wasn't ready for it and got a slight case of whiplash, and fell down. I got up and I see this guy laughing with his friends, so I give him a push right back, and then he, thinking he's all tough threatens me and asks if I want to fight, so I said yes, and push him again, so the kid tries to strangle me and I bring him to the floor in some sort of lock, some random wrestling move I guess.. and then he pussied off. And this wasn't even at a metal show... hahahaha

Usually it's just a sore neck and back for a few days after and ears ringing until the next day, nothing major, yet.

When I saw Lamb of God last night I collided with some jackass and our heads it, resulting in half of my face dripping blood. For some reason it didn't hurt, maybe because of the adrenaline. After they ended, I was able to somewhat clean it off but it didn't really stop bleeding. After a while I got it to significantly slow down, but it reopened in the Slayer pit. I think I might need stitches, but I don't want more. Plus, I have a gnarly-looking gash in my head which is cool. Anyways, my whole entire body hurts right now, except my head. The pit for Lamb of God was unimaginable...

There are rarely moshpits here
just people banging their heads and minding their own business
can get pretty tight up at the front though

the strangest injury ive had is probably from a guy pressing his huuuge belly against my back
and some guys are just too damn rude, hands wandering and what not

eh so far i had my hair pulled almost out cause some guy thought it would be funny to get a girl in submission, it back fired on him though. but so far the worst i would have to say the time me and my bf started a pit for a local show where you had mostly 200lb < guy throwing each other at people, and being a lightweight didnt help me in the situation. a guy flew into my temple knocking my out for 30 seconds, after that for a week my hearing and eye sight were fucking with me :\ . eh but the guy had it worse he got knocked out for a good 5 minutes, they had to stop the show and almost called medical assistance

I R Serious Cat
I only moshed once, two years ago. I can't modh now because I have a pelvis problem so I can't fall.

But that time I moshed it was in a concert of a local band named Gato Negro (Black Cat). I was with two cousins. One of them got his mouth crushed, someone hit him with an elbow. The other had a cut on the inner side of his right arm, a girl cut him with A NAIL! As for me, I got eight bruises on my right arm and a muscular tension on my shoulders because someone jumped from the stage and hit me there.

It hurt, but it was fuckin' funny, too bad I can't do it now.

Never been injured too badly in a mosh pit....moshed a few times...one of the ones I really would like to forget is when I tried to start up some moshes at a sep / in flames concert, sep was fine, I didn't get too hurt and it was fucking great, but when in flames started and all the people that came for sep got the hell out it just died down <_>.

Lol for some friggin reason I also once lost my pants at the Deeds Of Flesh, Vile & Impaled tour Lol!

My worst injuring at the moment was a broken finger.
The floor was damn wet (beer, water & all that stuff you know).
I actually did not want to mosh but after 2 damn seconds after the first hit on the bass-drum...
I suddenly was in the middle of this hell of a moshpit and some chick got wordly thrown over to me, which cause me to fell and break by fucking finger.

Anyway, the gig did own, Napalm Death, Vader, Marduk and much more... (I don't like Marduk)

Edit: After a local Cock And Ball Torture show I had a dislocated Vertebra. I was damn lucky though!
And what do we learn outta this? Never, never ever, mosh when you're drunk.

Yeah i too have a hard understanding how the hell you can lose you pant in the pit... mind boggling.

Well no injuries from me as of late. Had to stay out of them because ive stuffed my spine badly.
BUT going to a gig tonight where a gay hardcore/emo band (I Killed The Prom Queen) are headlining, so hopefully alot of Emo's will be getting hurt... we're setting out to cause some damage tonight. Ahem, all "accidently" and "unintentionally" of coarse
