- Iron Maiden and Bullet For My Valentine. (2006)
Seriously, Trendy metalcore kids don't mix the salty old NWOBHM crowd, that's an assbeating waiting to happen.
- Metallica, Mudvayne, Deftones, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit (yes, Limp Bizkit) (2003)
Proof positive metallica sold out.
-Dragonforce at Ozzfest (2006)
They seriously don't fit in with Black Label Society, Strapping Young Lad, and System of a Down.
Any to contribute?

I always hate it when "hardcore" bands tour with legitimate metal bands. Basically what happens is that the queer hardcore dancers get into fights with the metalheads and I always feel like I have to watch my back, because hardcore dancers like to hit you in the back of the head.

I don't care if it has been said, but I find it wrong that Dsiturbed and Nevermore toured (are they still touring together?) with each other around the UK

Well Finntroll was opening for KoRn in Helsinki this year, which I thought was quite amusing... Luckily they weren't touring with each other...

Last year I saw Into Eternity open up for Opeth and Nevermore. It was...odd. While Opeth and Into Eternity are Progressive Death Metal, and Nevermore is a Power influenced Thrash Metal band, it was Into Eternity that didn't seem to fit. I honestly have never considered Into Eternity Progressive Metal or Death Metal. But what ever. They made me laugh a lot.

Trivium supporting Children Of Bodom was kind of strange and you know that the crowd didn't react to Trivium very well on most of those Otherwise the strangest thing I've seen myself was a local Brutal Hardcore/Trash Metal band openning up for HIM here in Sofia in 2002... it was hillarious... I go inside to concert almost for free and there were soooo many chicks I didn't really give a rat fuck who's playing... I also saw a very old Bulgarian Hard Rock band that had just shot a video of the most comersial rock song ever that was going around on TV, opening for Soulfly... Of course they got boood off the stage by all the Soulfly and Sepultura fans attending the concert... I've really seen a lot of wierd support placements here in Bulgaria... There was times when promoters didn't really think about it very much Otherwise I see no problem with totally different from each other bands palying the same festival... That's the point of Festivals, isn't it...

I know, I know its been said and i'll repeat it. Reading on the Nevermore website that they are doing a tour with Disturbed was just stupid... but then reading further that this great band was SUPPORTING Disturbed was almost hilarious yet sad at the same time. Can anyone tell me what the connection is (if any) that got these two bands signed on the same tour? Because surely Nevermore didnt have much of a choice whether they got put SUPPORTING this (imo) second rate band compared to Nevermore.. now im not picking on them, not my taste and im comparing them to Nevermore.

Apocalyptica opening a Korn-headlining concert, before Mudvayne and Marilyn Manson. I have nothing against Korn, actually is one of my favorite bands, but it was a weird combination. Also, in other Korn-headlining concert, Ministry playing in a line-up of only nu metal bands (Deftones, Ill Niño, Sparta and Puya).

05.10.2006 - 01:26 Written by [user id=12867] on 03.10.2006 at 14:28 Yeah I already said it but the outrage must be expressed again. I was so fucking pissed off when I went to try and get tickets last week but the show for both days were sold out. GRRR...damn people going for Disturbed when I was just going for Nevermore! If only Disturbed hadn't cancelled their shows earlier in the year...Nevermore would have been headlining without them on the bill. I missed one of my favourite bands because of their touring partner. Ridiculous. Of course the really irritating thing is that in various countries in Europe, Nevermore were headlining and Disturbed weren't on the bill. :'(

05.10.2006 - 10:56 Written by Immortal Plague on 04.10.2006 at 22:54 Yep, the whole tour was basicly kind of strange as far as band selection goes. May be some booking agents were having an exeriment with this one Still, may be it was a very wise choice for Children Of Bodom, cause not all of the Trivium or Amon Amarth fans had heard Children Of Bodom and one of the cool qualities of Children Of Bodom is that they have the potantial appeal to both to the Metalcore Trivium vrowd and the true death crowd of Amon Amarth. This means that there is high chance, that even tough they were headliners, they probably have accumulated some new fans thanks to this tour, so may be it isn't such a strange descision for them to do such a tour.

I remember reading a Dimmu Borgir interview where they said they were offered to open for Korn in Norway. Quite a strange mix, don't you think ? But Dimmu rejected the offer because they didn't have the time, being recording the Stormblast re-issue. But they also said that they would be happy to do it, just to prove to conservative tr00 black metal fans that, even if they don't like Korn music, they can be open minded. (The interview was published in a French RockHard magazine in 2005) Maybe that's the whole point of these stranges tours... Even if I nearly choked when I heard about Nevermore opening for Disturbed ...

After being to a local death/black metal festival and seeing a typical hip hop dude, with typical baggy hip hop clothing (with the words HIP HOP on them), headbanging (or trying to) and hip-hop dancing in the middle of a moshpit, I don't find anything else strange anymore... Though there was a local doom festival that featured a so-called "gothic/doom" band that played Nightwish, CoF and Tristania covers... talk about out of place...
